quick question on battery

I just got 3 14500 3.7v lithium batteries and wondering can i use these on normal appliances that take double A batteries?

worst case scenario, you have massive meltdown of all components. best case scenario, you kill the batts. Any way you try it, something is gonna die... possibly spectacularly. If you try it, video tape it for me!
