We are working on a DNA20 box mod that will have dual Sony 18650 batteries wired in parallel. We also picked up the Evolv usb charger so the batteries don't have to be taken out for charging.

The question is, what kind of charge time are we looking at? Should be 4200mah total for the batteries. The usb charger is rated at 500mah. Does that mean it will take roughly 8 hours to charge? Or are they charged together for roughly 4 hours?

And aside from checking the batteries with a multimeter periodically to make sure they are not too far out of balance, is there any negative aspect of charging two batteries in parallel consistently?

Thanks!

Hey, sorry but I won't be of much help. I am very intrigued though and would like to know what comes out of this thread. I will (hopefully) someday be building something similar ... provided I get some time and spare ca$h to work with!

As for your questions specifically, have you written to Evolv? It would seem to me that they should be able to answer some (if not all) of your questions.

Good luck!
