Always keep cables (the two prongerZ) from dead radios, laptop/notebook chargers, electric razors, etc.

I have power cables 10 years old from my power cable bin in the garage filled with these. Apparently none of you were ever without (or grew up in the 80's) because you would save all of them, they are like gold in the IT world (Information Technology... well maybe not "GOLD" to the new IT guys, just the old schoolerz, yet I'm [only] 34).

You can buy longer cords anywhere internet based if you are weary of the Christmas-Tree-type fire-hazard issue.

A search on ebay.com:
2 prong laptop
Hit Buy it now, then Sort by lowest price 1st and you got 1 for 3 bucks! Well right now...

I realized I don't even have a wall outlet for the wall charger with anything close enough to set the charger down. Is it okay for it to be just dangling from the wall?

It's because in China they practice Feng Shui. This allows the Chi to flow through your house properly..and as a side bonus, all desks are located immediately near plugins for convenience.

But then again, it could be cause short cords are cheaper to make too?

I think it's ok to let yours "dangle". I been letting mine dangle for years. So far no ill effects. Although I usually try to restrain myself if I'm going to be jogging or doing yard work.

If all else fails... use duct tape LOL

It's true, I saw Macgyver make an atom bomb with an ink pen, bailing wire and duct tape...although i think he cheated and used some matches too, but they always edit out the critical bits so you dont erase your neighborhood from the map cause "you saw it on Macgyver"
