Hello everyone! We are getting close to the August 8th deadline to be heard!

http://freetovape.org was introduced to me by Riptrippers in one of his videos. They offer a fast form that you fill out and they send it out to everyone they can to make sure we can keep vaping! They are helping us fight, so lets help them help us! :vapor:

Yes! This form is very easy to fill out, and it will be sent to the FDA and your state senators and representatives (based on your location). It asks all the important questions, and it literally takes like 5 seconds! :D

Here is a direct link to the form: Free to Vape - Take Action

Thanks for the comment Dragonpuff. I'm glad to see you too have filled out this form. It's so important that we all take a few seconds out of our life so that we can be a part of the movement that helps vaping rise to the top! By doing so we will inevitably save an extraordinary number of smokers lives!

Sorry to keep bumping, but here is a chance for everyone who fills out the freetovape form to protect vaping from the FDA will be put into a Riptrippers drawing to win a vaping related prize! Mods, RDA's, ect! Watch the video and make sure to fill out the form and write 'done' in the comments section to enter yourself in for a chance to win some sweet vaping supplies!

Once again! The form only takes 5 minutes OR LESS! This is a great way to get your story to the FDA and to protect vaping as a whole!

Only The FDA Comment Process Works – Free-To-Vape Petition Will Not Help With FDA.

Despite rumors that signing the FreetoVape.com petition is the same as sending in a comment to the FDA it is NOT!!!!! The FDA Comment Process is part of the formal rule making process that Federal agencies are required to go through. The petition does not meet the requisite standards and has no legal or legislative impact. In other words, signing it has absolutely no effect on the FDA or the politicians. As of right now, early estimates are that there are only between 4,000 and 8,000 actual vaper and vapor industry comments on Ecigs. The rest of the comments deal with cigars and pipes and will have no positive impact on the Vapor Industry.

The current number of comments on Vaping is far too low for any significant change on the Proposed Deeming Regulations. Get your comments in now, it only takes a little while.

While there was an earlier freetovape petition, at the current site linked above IS for the FDA comment period. It isn't just something you sign like in a petition. And re: the bold above, there are a few ways comments are accepted by the FDA. One is on-line, others are mail or hand delivery, which freetovape will do. See:

Regulations.gov

"Mail/Hand Delivery/Courier (for paper submissions): Division of Dockets Management (HFA-305), Food and Drug Administration, 5630 Fishers Lane, Rm. 1061, Rockville, MD 20852."

The form which you fill out at freetovape already includes the appropriate docket number that only pertains to the comment process to the FDA on this issue:

RE: FDA, Docket No. FDA-2014-N-0189, Regulatory Information Number (RIN) 0910- AG38

Free to Vape - More Information

.... also your link to CASAA is not working :)

I believe comments to Congress are just as important as comments to the FDA and that is why I've submitted comments for both, freetovape and CASAA. I hope no one thinks one replaces the other because they are not the same - and even if they were, duplication is a good thing. I would love to see 10 or 20 different ways to submit comments.

They are the same in this manner - both go as 'comments' to the FDA under the same docket, unlike what is suggested by the OP. The freetovape is not a petition. It's a true FDA comment. But they are different in how they are delivered.... and people should do both anyway :)

I just saw this reply, have only read, not used ECF before.

The wording isn't mine, I was just sharing the post. BUT, I am very concerned with the number of people who have told me that its a bad idea to submit to Regulations.gov because they will reject your comment if there are any mistakes.

I am also concerned about tracking individual comments with no tracking number, and wether FTV will stop accepting submissions in enough time to allow for printing and delivery of 10's of thousands of comments. Also, is enough time being left for technical difficulties/ unexpected logistical problems? I've tried to address this by emailing the site but haven't heard anything. I also can't find any recent updates. You seem to be knowledgeable about FTV, do you have any info about this?

I think that it would ease a lot of peoples minds (mine included) to have an update as there are a lot of comments in the balance.

I don't know about FTV personally, so I can't answer those questions. However, as far as the FDA rejecting comments because there are "mistakes," that's not the case. I could see them reject a comment due to swear words or very threatening language (it's easy to avoid those things though...), but I have seen many comments posted to the public docket that were extremely poorly worded, loaded with grammar, spelling, and general abuse-of-the-English-language mistakes. From both vapers and ANTZ. So even if you can't spell, it is still worth it to send in your comment.

About the only mistake one could make is not including the docket number or not getting it right. When you comment through FTV, it's already present on the pdf file that gets entered - see the sample shown on that link. For CASAA you include it in your heading per instructions - a simple copy/paste .

Here's an update received today in email. I believe I'm safe in posting this, as it is not a private email, but a public one. :)

Hi Everyone,

Wanted to take a minute to update everyone on where were are at now, and what is next.

We sent the Printer the first 39,000 submissions last night at 3:00am EST. They are letting us send them any additional we receive, up to 7:00AM EST tomorrow August 8th. They just called, and the first 10,000 are already printed and ready to go.

The FDA documents look GREAT! They did a really good job formatting them in the end! We will put up a copy of one soon, so you all can see what they look like. They are formatted correctly to make sure they are legal, accepted, and recorded.

We are picking them up at the Printer in the morning at approximately 10:00.

We will be dropping them off at the FDA at 2:30pm EST. We just got off of the phone with the FDA to confirm the time, and that we would like a receipt for them. They groaned... about having to stamp all of them in LOL

The address is:
Food and Drug Administration
5630 Fishers Lane Room 1061
Rockville, MD. 20852

Some Vaper's are wanting to/ planning on coming and helping. We plan to all meet at the front of the building around 2:00pm EST... so we can get organized. Anyone else that would like to help, "please come" and meet us there at 2:00. Bring your cameras (grin). We will be video taping this, so we can post it on the website, YouTube, etc.

Please remember to ask your Family and Friends to also submit, in your behalf. Their Comments are also very important! Their Comments will also be sent to their Congressman. They will make a difference!

Look for more information soon. FTV gathered "real world" data from Vapers', that is going to be valuable and informative in this fight. There are real stats on how many of you support (or don't) - 18 and over, child safety caps, etc. We will be correlating that data - and creating an abstract report for the FDA, your Congressmen, and advocacy efforts towards the future.

^ I was about to post the same comment; source was CASAA Facebook page (for me). I was very happy to hear that they made the FDA "groan" and they will be getting every single comment submitted a reciept, all 40,000 of them (YES!).

Exactly. Any petition's main goal, whether even the writers realize it or not, is to get people to be invested in the issue it is about and do more. In the case of the FDA that means a comment that will be part of the official record. In the case of a politico that means some sort of contact.
