I am wondering; has anyone ever tried cleaning one of these automatic 808 batteries before? or the 901's for that matter? I am thinking about doing that, but I was hoping there might be some good guidance for this so I can avoid ruining them. I mean, they are acting funky but they are still working when I do hit them. I am positive they are randomly firing without even being attached to anything because of juice getting inside. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of time for searching right now so please pardon me if there are a truck load of posts on the topic of auto battery cleaning. Feel free to post links to the posts.
:p
LOL. I can always search again when I get home too!

Ummm... Well as much I as appreciate your time in linking the video for me, I am looking for something a bit more involved than just wiping off the connector actually. My 808 and 901 auto's have got a fair amount of juice down inside the battery which is causing the random firing on their own, or firing when held upside down. This is happening even without an atomizer or carto connected to the things.

I am looking to find out if there are any special tips or tricks to disassembling these auto batteries so that I can clean the tube, battery itself, and any circuitry inside. It looks as though I am going to just have to tear into one and find out the old fashioned way if there are any certain things to avoid or ways to go about it. I think the false ash LED cover is probably held on with a touch of glue. I will pop that off with some small pliers I guess. The battery connector is where I am mostly concerned. I don't know where the battery is connected for the negative. The wires are either soldered onto the inside of the tube or to the connector. I also do not know how much play I have with the wires so how careful do I need to be when taking it all apart for the good internal cleaning.

Anyways.. Since I am not seeing much else for cleaning these auto batteries to extend their life, I will try and record the process and then post it for others to witness my success or utter failure. Live and learn!
