I've been vaping for about three years. I'm scared to death of my tomorrow quit date. I don't know what I will do when I wake up.

Are you vaping 0% nic now? That helped me.

"what you will do when you wake up" is the same for any habit, whether it be drinking coffee, vaping, etc. We wear a rut in our brains, we are used to doing what we do, some of us are creatures of habit/creatures of comfort more than others.

Changing a routine just requires doing something else in that time spot. It could be a short walk upon wakening......something yhou don't usually do (that you want to do to perhaps replace a habit with a new habit).

Maybe you are not ready?

I stopped carrying vape gear while out and about all day, stuff like that, so it is pretty easy for me to not vape most of the day. If I quit I will just have to find something to do when I'm home alone.....easy to do, just got a whole ton of PILATES DVDs. :)

Just don't get up and follow usual routine because that will not create new pathways in brain...I've read alot of books about "habits". It actually takes 10-21 days to completely change a habit.

Man, I am so intrigued about what is being quit!
I think we all are!! Lol

If you're quitting smoking, give yourself permission to chain vape, even if that means lowering your nic level. Lesser of 2evils right now!

If you're quitting vaping, I have no idea how to advise as I've never walked that road. I wish you well tho!!

Edit: I see a tag underneath the thread that says "quitting vaping". Man, we are a supremely unobservant crowd tonight, aren't we all?? *sheepish grin*

Yeah, I don't think that tag is necessarily put there by the OP though, maybe sometime. I see some real random tags for threads. We shall see...

I dunno, to me it reads that the OP is quitting vaping.

So that is how I answered. Otherwise, they probably would have written "I've been smoking for about 3 years......"

Im at 3 mgs now, down from 36mgs almost three years ago.

My advice if youre quitting vaping is to vape 0 nic for 6 months to a year to give your body time to adjust to 0 nic.

Once youre comfortable with that, quitting vaping should be relatively painless.

Thats what Im planning on doing too, although Im no hurry. I figure I smoked for 25 years, why rush to quit vaping?

Keep a backup bottle of 1.5mg or 3mg in case you start craving a cigarette as well.

Good point. I'd assume getting successfully down to 0 nic and staying there for awhile would be step 1. As far as step 2, going out without your vape stuff would probably be a good idea too. Past that, I'd say just plan on having several "out-of-whack" days to break the habit of the physical action...for me, the hardest part is sitting doing nothing with my hands, whether I'm reading, talking, or just relaxing...doing something more "physical" helps when I'm trying to cut down, whether it's cleaning the house or going for a run or even just drawing to have something to do with my hands. I don't draw well, half the time I color in my kids' coloring books instead, but it keeps the hands busy lol

Yeah, I totally see that, RH, but it also seems kinda strange for someone to think that ECF is is populated with a vapers that have quit vaping. I know Stubby doesn't vape (I think that's right) and I am sure others don't or have quit too, but I don't think most people here quit vaping and continue being here, at least in any capacity that is likely to lead them to this thread, i.e, "what is helping you?". Just kinda weird to me (but no knock on the OP). I do agree that signs are pointing to your thinking; seems most reasonable based on what was said, despite how I see a lack of a real support group for that.

But if the OP is looking to stop vaping. I dunno. Keep busy.

If you're quitting vaping, what is the significance of your end date, and what have you done to prepare yourself for quitting? Have you already cut back, moved to 0 nic, and have you tried to quit already? The way I figure it, moving from cigs to vaping is very hard because you're replacing something with something completely different. But quitting vaping, especially after moving to 0 nic and breaking the physical addiction, I think that you have a very good chance at being successful. But a slip up with 0 nic here and there isn't the end of the world because you're not feeling a physical addiction anymore. I just wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself.
