Ok...very quick update as I approach 2 weeks with the QZI Megatron.

Apart from a couple of short spells using the Ikarus and the orion, I have used the Megatron solidly for the last two weeks.

It's important to state that I love both the Ikarus and the Orion and, as owners of these are well aware, they are excellent, quality, well-performing hybrids. The simple fact that I used neither of them for more than a couple of hours before picking up the QZI device again tells me what a wonderful hybrid this is.

With a hollow 400 mesh wick, 4/5 of 0.2 coil, the airhole lined up exactly with the wick, and 100% VG juice - the throathit is medium (perfect for me so no need to move the airhole), the flavour is crisp, clean and well-defined and the vapour is warm and plentiful. In the two weeks I have had no misfires and no dry hits.

For me, a major plus is its easy set up...nicely sized screws, plenty of working room and a generous sized fill hole. The top cap fits snugly but requires no "fighting" or "wiggling" either on or off - again a minor thing to many but a major plus for me.

Having used it almost exclusively in 18350 mode has meant many battery changes but the threading is butter smooth each and every time and, without having the instruments to verify empirically, there appears very little voltage drop and it hits very well.

So, a fortnight in, the Megatron continues to impress me. Its appearance, its "feel" in the hand, its ease of set-up, its performance and its reliability all exactly match with my personal likes and requirements, as does the continued exemplary communications and customer service of QZI and his team.

As I mentioned in a previous post, it may have taken me the best part of 2012, but I have finally stumbled on my "keeper" :D
