I asked them this weekend if they would be carrying any of batteries like the cr123. They told me, that they didnt know. They had a new battery shelf up with about 12 empty pegs. he said they may come in to fill those pegs.

I'm not going to hold my breath however.
On an unrelated note, I have a degree in electronics engineering, and i haven't been into rat shack in a long time. I perused their electronic components and was amazed to find some pretty cool stuff. RFID reader, accelerometers, etc.

Btw big, that charger i was talking about in the 3.8 4.2 charging thread, will do cell phone batteries too. Ive used it to bring back a t-mobile mda battery from the virge of death a few times.

you may run into issues trying to charge any cellphone battery outside the cell phone, unless you open the battery and circumvent the protection IC inside (which recommend you stay away from)

Why would you recommend that? I've done that several times now, with no problems. You end up with an unprotected 3.7v flat battery, and as long as your charger has protection, you shouldn't run into any problems. In fact, I've used the Lenmar PowerPort Mini charger and Digipower Jump Start charger (available at RS) along with old cell phone/PDA batteries, and I haven't had any problems.

I'm with you on this. I've got the power port mini that I have removed the stock battery and replaced with a 600mAh battery out of a hand scanner and it charges and cuts off just fine. I'm just waiting on a box to put it in so I can actually vape with it.
