I've been wondering why it is that people in the UK don't seem to generally know about or trust e-cigarettes on average, and why they aren't widely available in supermarkets yet (and I don't just mean the disposable ones!)... and so I went and searched on facebook.
There are a few pages on facebook about E-Cigarettes, but they all appear to be pages advertising a given companies product. There was no one page where people can go and 'like' e-cigarettes. The best way of quelling suspicion and raising a profile is memetics (people tend to do what their peers do), and so a single place where a lot of people like something is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to new people encountring e-cigs.
... and so I went and created just such a page, which doesn't support any given company... just e-cigarettes as a whole. It's just getting started and would really help if you would kindly visit the page and 'like' it, and perhaps even share it. The higher the profile of E-cigs, the more likely we are to see them spreading into a store near you, and the harder it becomes to regulate them into the preserve of big pharma.
