Ok, so I just had a really random idea about steeping...

I was sitting here thinking about how to speed up the steep time on my new juice delivery, and happened to be looking around my house at common objects. I don't have an ultrasonic or a crock pot, nor can I afford one right now.

I know this is gonna sound desperate / stupid, but has anybody tried tossing a bottle in the dryer with some towels on low heat? I figure the motion of the dryer would shake the bad boy, and the heat help steep. Considering some of the stuff that makes it through in pockets on high heat, I'm pretty sure a juice bottle would survive.

Alternative method - anybody tried chucking one in a brass tumbler?

Ok, so that's my random thought for the day... Let me know what you think!

Ya it was fine. Standard 30ml plastic bottle...was inside a hoodie pocket.

Awesome sauce... Now to figure out if that will actually help the steeping process...

*puts on lab goggles* Please be cautioned of flammable objects, noxious gasses and could everyone please keep all hands, arms, legs and feet inside until the ride has come to a full and complete stop.

Throw a cup of water in the microwave for about a minute and 20 seconds, then put your bottles ina zip lock baggy so the labels dont get wet, then put the baggy in the cup of hot water.Let them sit a few minutes until they get warm, then shake the crap out of them and put them back in the water.Every once in a while shake them again. Then reepeat the whole process one more time and they will be pretty well good to go.

I think this is a great idea. There are many wonderful suggestions for steeping without a ultra sonic cleaner. Some downright ingenious and some, you don't even want to ask. Although I have definitely noticed more pronounced flavors with steeped liquid. I have learned not to worry about it because I do have the will power it takes to wait. But on the bright side, I can taste it getting better and better. Fruit flavors and clearish juices seem not to need any steep time at all IMO. The darker juice and tobacco will definitely benefit if you possess patience. Good luck and happy drying to you (and me).

I have both a large ultrasonic cleaner and brass tumbler because I reload a lot of ammo....and just finished mixing up a 50ml bottle of vanilla custard. Looks like off to the tumbler it goes.

Thanks for the idea! :thumb:

Same boat here. We use a lot of calibers so it's easier to reload the expensive stuff. His tumbler was running, and the sound made me think of it.

I've put them on the DVR cable box, which is always warm.
Thanks for reminding me about my brass tumbler.
Should be a good way to shake many bottles!
