All of your DIY questions have answers here: DIY E-Liquid

As brock stated, hopefully this is in addition to other batteries. Your statement about "buying next" makes me believe that to be the case. Always need back-ups of back-ups. I would grab a Dbox puritank or Anyvape Davide until the new Protank 2 comes out -- more options for you.

Otherwise, good chocies.

I half agree with the idea of a back up, in terms of a clearomizer. They are fussy little guys sometimes. Definitely get a back up to your Protank, whether it be another Protank or a Vivi Nova or an evod.

Backup to the iTaste VV/VW though? I wouldn't anticipate it getting broken anytime soon. Get your setup, see what you like, and then maybe think about ordering a backup later. Unless you have some crazy sort of accident with it or it arrives DOA, you shouldn't need a back up to it when you first get it. It is a pass through, so even if you want to use it while it charges, you are all set.

You never know what can go wrong. You can drop it in the john, fall out of your pocket, anything can happen. I have winder 1100mah backup to my itaste 3.0 along with a couple fixed volt egos. The egos are gathering dust but I'm glad I have them and I keep them charged.

I've found a rotation of tanks to be very important to me. Not everybody likes going that way but I have 4 evods and an ismoka mini bcc. I keep them full of various flavors and strengths. Keeps vape life easy and smooth.

I didn't read your other thread so maybe you already have other tanks ready to screw on the itaste in addition to the protank.

As for the itaste, I can't imagine you being unhappy with that. It's the best bang for the buck variable wattage device out there imo. I usually keep it on the vw setting vs the vv setting.

Dude you can find a Protank and replacement heads much cheaper than Mt Baker. If you are not buying juice from them, I'd suggest a different vendor for hardware.

My issue is with it being legit. I've heard horror stories of knock offs, and I'm willing to pay the few extra bucks because I know theirs is real.

In regards to the whole backup situation, I have 2 other ego batteries, and I'll probably get a couple of the Kanger EVOD tanks as well, but I have a few clearomizers already.

@jefsview: Thanks for the DIY link.

The iTaste V3 is a good starter PV. I would recommend using it in "set & forget" variable watt (VW) mode. I also agree with the advice to get a backup battery.

Can you expand on that? I don't really understand where wattage comes into play. I plan on running 2.5 ohm heads for the ProTank, and I would like to just set the volt and watt and leave them.

As far as I've understood with my 3 variable wattage devices, they vary the voltage based on the wattage and the resistance of your atomizer. Currently I'm using a Evic and Vamo v3. Since going to Variable wattage I rarely use my devices in vv mode anymore. I find it easier to control my devices in VW.

Also for the Kanger Protank, I'd suggest washing it out with a little dish soap before using it the first time.

Mainly you just want to wash out the tank itself and the tube. Don't get any of the soap on the actual atomizer and wicks for obvious reasons. On my second protank I noticed a strong metal flavor to it, and after rinsing it out with dish soap that metal taste has gone away quite a bit.

With the V3 you can adjust your power in either volts or watts. When you set the V3 to adjust power in watts (VW), it will sense any change in the resistence of your ProTank and automatically adjust the power to maintain a more consistent vape. Any head's (carto/clearo, etc) resistence will change over time with use. VV does not sense that change in resistence and change the power to the head to maintain your original settings. VW does sense that change and adjusts automatically. Thus it is closer to "set & forget". The same applies if you decide to use a different head with a different resistence (ohms).
