Hey All,

I love the vapor production and elegance of the Gen style RBAs. But my favorite juice tastes better out of a carto. I'm disappointed. I'm hoping you all can either give me some pointers with my RBA or direct me in a different juice direction.

Vital Stats:
Time: vaping for 4 months
Setup: Provari and tank
Carto: Boge 2 ohm (at 3.6 Volts)
Juice: Vermillion river Kentucky 10mg
RBAs: Cobra 3ml, AGA T (400 mesh, 32 gauge kanthal)
Coil: 2.0 ohms I think it's a 5/6 wrap

The only different I can see here is the filler material in the carto.
Thanks in advance for the help/ advice!

One of the reasons those devices didn't work out for me is because I love my juice more than the delivery device. That being said, there is so much info on these type of systems that surely someone can help. Take this as a bump.

Maybe it's that you're used to the taste of that juice out of a carto? It could be possible that the carto is muting certain notes, which isn't a bad thing if you don't like the notes it's muting. Or maybe you like the flavor the filler of the carto adds with that juice?

Despite the cause, the truth is juices taste different with different devices. I've had atties that for some reason mute certain notes while bringing out others. That's why when I used disposable atties I would rotate a 510, 901, and a 306, to find which atty a juice worked well with. Since getting into dripping RBAs (never used the genesis style) I've found a device and set-up that doesn't mute any notes, which is my preference. I may be odd in that even if a juice would taste better to me by muting some notes, I prefer to taste it and get to know it as originally intended.

So that doesn't help your situation, but I'd suggest either vaping that juice in a carto or adapt to how it tastes in your Genesis. One thing I haven't learned how to do is to make a juice taste in one delivery system like it does in another.

I hope I don't wind up going through sampler packs like kleenex again. It took me awhile (as I'm sure you know) to find a juice that hit the spot. Also, I was under the impression that these attys were supposed to INCREASE the juice's flavor and not weaken them? I didn't realize that was a topic of debate.

It doesn't matter if others think the Gen tastes better, if in practice it doesn't for you that's what's more important. Like I said, I've never used a Gen, but you're not the first person I've heard that don't find them the bee's knees. Many people still find cartos to provide the best taste for them. For me personally, dripping has provided the flavor that I prefer.

Gen users may be able to help if you can say specifically what it is you don't like about the flavor it's producing.

When I first used a genny, I tried it for the first time with GoodeJuice Acadian Gold (or Wild Turkey, I can't remember which), but that juice tasted sooooooooooooooooo funky that I almost gagged! What happened to my beloved juice? Well, that set-up was not for that juice. Everyone told me, "try fruit," "try a dessert," but at that time, that was the last thing I wanted to vape. I couldn't imagine changing my music tastes to get the best performance out of a speaker!

Great analogy, Mann. Jazz-JBL, Rock-QSC. Makes no sense.

For me the trick was finding one, yes I said it, one JDS (juice delivery system) that allowed for me to flow seamlessly between flavors. That took awhile, though. I don't have the money to have a different set-up per juice. Some can, I can't and wouldn't if I could.

I know a lot of people that feel RBAs work great for any juice (and a lot of them vape almost identical flavors as I do), so it is most certainly possible. Keep chugging away at it until you feel you have reached a point that it finally worked, or it finally proved to not be for you. Point is, give it some time.

That's exactly it. The most we can do with a JDS is get it working to the point it produces the best it possibly can. Once we get it to that point the question is, is this what I want?

Cartos are the easiest, fill it up, run the correct watts through it, and it's at max output. Not much tweaking can be done. Disposable atties have a little more learning curve and possible tweaks to get better flavor, but still pretty easy to get it working great. RBAs are different in that how you build it has such a huge effect on how well it performs. Huge amount of tweaks and changes to get different performance.
