RBA/RDA build on Itaste SVD

Hey all, curious for some information regarding the SVD. I have heard mixed opinions on if getting into rebuildables with this mod is a good idea. Local vape shop owner told me not to bother, yet I watch some youtube vapers and see digital mods with rebuilds. I'm interested in advancing my knowledge of wrapping/wicking and dripping.

Currently using the pink samsung 18650 batteries in the SVD, I know the resistance cap is 1.2 ohms for the unit, but other than that it seems the questions I have get indirectly shunned.

Basically looking for protips, "the more you know" sort of comments!:2cool::2cool:

1.2Ω, 28 gauge Kanthal single coil............30 gauge dual parallels

thanks for the info, the very limited information I was able to get out of the "pros" also included that i should start with 32g so as not to make "rookie mistakes". But as far as my research, as long as I am able to produce coil(s) that complete the circuit and provide atleast 1.2ohm resistance, I should be in the clear. Any reason to use certain thickness of coil, other than the obvious ohm/cm ratios?

The reason you get those looks, is while the SVD can do what you are asking, it will do it poorly and inefficiently. You will most likely see your coils being very slow to fire from inside to out, not like a "beefier" unit that will get the glow to the whole coil faster.

So.. can you use rba's and rda's with a 1.2 or slightly higher build on your device.. YES you can, will it work as well as say on an IPV2... no it wont.

For example I have a VTR (also a 15W limit, and a 0.8ohm min) if I put my Fogger with a 1.4ohm coil on it, set at 13.5watts, it performers far poorer than my Sigelei 30W does, set at 13.5wats with the same fogger. When looking at just the coil, with the tank off. The difference I can see, is how quickly the coil gets up to bright red. Almost instant with my Sigelei and almost a second with my VTR. Using the same batteries, btw.
