if you are thinking of doing the unoxidized method for your wicks any vv device is tricky because for a short time the wick kind of is shorting until a few fires which actually oxidizes itself. but this will happen with any vv device. but besides that my opinion is the provari v-2 is the best vv device out there. because a vv device has protection it will detect any shorts and error out, but as you get more efficient in making coils this wont be an issue. some also buy mechanical mods to make a set-up and then switch it over to the vv device, thus bypassing the errors, this works good but also can be dangerous in a way, because now you are dealing with no protection at all. i have been using ceramic wicks latlely, so i dont worry about shorts and oxidation anymore, which is one less headache. but as for the provari, i wouldnt hesitate what so ever, it is the best

Great! That's a relief. I'm a gadget freak and like to tinker, so a RBA seemed perfect for me. I already rebuild my ViVi Nova, which is ridiculously easy, so I figured an RBA would be my next step.

Any suggestions? I'd prefer it to also be aesthetically pleasing on the Provari as well, but won't skimp on quality to do so.

RBAs work fine on Provaris. I currently have an Ody on mine, but I've used many gen-RBAs on it as well. As mentioned, it can be a bit finicky with shorts when setting up a gen, but its not difficult once you get the hang of it. Also, you will have to keep the amp limit in mind. I have used an SLR coil on it, but you will have to stay in the low 3V range for it. Personally, I think that it's best to make SR/HR coils for VV devices. My Ody is currently set up with a 2.8ohm coil and Provari is set at 5V.

Here's a pic of the Ody on my Provari.

OT: Are you a pathologist?

No I'm not lol, its actually a band that I like called Pathology.

And that looks perfect what you have! Its a tank type system and not a dripper from what I can see...which is fantastic because I don't care for dripping unless I'm just testing flavors. How much liquid does it hold? And where can I find one of those bad boys?

i have used just about every geni that exists on a provari, they work great, like pointed out already the errors are a problem with a short and even without the error codes you wouldnt want to keep vaping it anyways. as usually a shorted coil on any battery tastes nasty.
I run the same wick for weeks and usually after the first day or two they get a decent coating and dont error out or need adjusting.
i run around 1 1/2 tanks a day and dry burn once a week. i dont have any problem wick wicks/coils gunking up, although heaver vg will cake up faster.

Ah, I thought that maybe I had finally found another pathologist that vapes.

The Ody is actually out of production, but they pop up from time to time on the classies. The Term-C is a very well made clone of the Ody, and is readily available (I think Stormys still has them in stock). My Ody is set up with the mid mode tank and holds about 3ml. The Term holds around 5ml, and its parts are interchangeable with Ody parts. The accent piece that covers the Provari slanted top cap is from Rampage Vapors.

the ody or term is a little different then a genesis atty, they dont have a wick that is submerged in the tank and they mainly use a silica wick, where a genesis uses mainly a ss mesh vertical wick, both are really nice. for a genesis atty, you can go with cheaper types that can run under 40 dollars, or quality devices that can run up to 150 dollars. a nice clone is an aga or ac-9 clone. a quality device is a real ac-9, cobra, DID, or the zap's the zen probably looks the nicest on the provari because it has a skirt that covers the top part of the provari making it look all in one. also for other genesis attys they make a sleeve(pro skirt, or pro sleeve) these are like 10 to 15 dollars, and make other genesis attys look all in one, (like the zaps)

I use rbas with my Provari's. I build my coils right around 1.3 to 1.4ohms and keep the voltage in the low 3's. I keep toying around with getting a mech mod but haven't yet. (I had an EA in my cart last night but chickened out LOL) I like the protection that the Provari provides.

I do oxidize the top part of my wick to help with shorts and hotspots on a new wick. My wicks have been in use now for a couple months and I can recoil them with no problems. I dry burn them every couple of tanks or days. Genisis rbas have totally spoiled me, I just can't go back to carto tanks and I hate that because my carto tanks were so portable and leakproof. I'm also thinking of getting some kind of rba that I can use cotton but it seems most of them have to be use with NR wire twisted onto the Resistance wire and I haven't done that yet. I have a drunker tank and it works well and doesn't leak when layed on it's side but it's just not as smooth as my mesh devices.

I've been on the "notify me" list for months for a peneolope. Is there any penelope clones out there?

My rba's on my Provari's. They work and look awesome :D

Whooooaaa... Just found them. $150 is a bit much before I get the hang of a RBA lol
agreed, i would start out with one of the clones, the new ac9 copy looks nice and there is always the aga, and many many other cheap clones, my first one was a DID copy for like 19 bucks.

your out of luck on the penny, they are out of production, there is supposed to be a clone coming soon though something close would be the kayfun or KF clone. the ody clone is a leakproof tank as well as the killer 705 tank insert.

My RBAs work great on my ProV...

Genisis rbas have totally spoiled me

Yeah me too donnah. But I'm still using one of my cartotanks at work. The others are gathering dust.

I build my coils right around 1.3 to 1.4ohms and keep the voltage in the low 3's

So do I. Seems backward to me, but I seem to get more flavor w/LR on mine for some reason. Amazing that our builds are so similar huh? What gauge wire are you using....30awg? Well, I do still oxidize my whole wick...
