USA. State: Inebriated.
Dry wicks or too much power for the wicking to keep up.

Yeah generally this is the reason. Overall: It's not good for the RDA (or for you).

It can also happen when you're dry-burning your coils (ie: in between rewicking) if there's still a buncha juice leftover on it. I try and blow it out promptly, or not get it hot enough that the juice bursts into flames. As @IMFire3605 said, the insulators aren't really meant to take that kind of "direct flame" heat.

Draw from the battery might also be too high causing an issue with the battery perhaps?

Typically, if there is a battery issue involving flames what happens is significantly more involved than something you can blow out. Venting can often go unnoticed, but flames as part of a battery in thermal runaway is a pretty violent reaction.:shock::shock:

Okay so I've seen a few videos on YouTube and Instagram where people are inhaling or showing off their RDA and it catches on fire. Why does this happen? Like what causes it and is there a way to prevent it? I couldn't imagine that in my face or while I was inhaling.

Don't know what youboob videos you are referring to but I had a clone RDA that kept sparking and shooting out flames (on occasions) until I found a microscopic defect in the top cap that was allowing the top cap to come into contact with the coil windings (on occasion) and shorting them out. I had to modify the top cap in order to fix the problem. The risks of using a clone I suppose. So, not all sparking and fires are caused from wicks but the majority probably are.

    This video never gets old.
Only PROFESSIONAL vapors can get a coil to burst into flames.

lol..lol...... I just now noticed this video and watched it for the first time.... Man guys, I never laughed so hard since I have been on the forum.... That is just too funny :w00t: Thanks for sharing.

EDIT: Victor "really love his box mod crazily" lol
