I bought a cheap st30 rebuildable tank. Its giving tons of flavor very little vapor but a really harsh throat hit. Its on my zmax at 15 watts and the coil is 1.4ohms. Any suggestions for less thought hit and more vapor.

perhaps higher vg juice? what are you using now? ide suggest 70% vg and higher blends

Try it at lower PV settings.
If there is a way to adjust air flow, then work with that some and maybe take longer/slower draws with lower heat.

7 - 10 watts should be good.

1.4 ohms? ummm 8-10 W is a good place to start. What juice are you using?? juice makes a difference too...

So is this a genesis style rba? Where is the airhole? Through the middle or...

I think the air hole is in the center pin under the screw. There is a hole in that. There are also one hole right above the 510 threads.

Hm. Your description sounds like what happens if you don't have good airflow over the coils, at least in my experience. Im trying to figure out how you get air over the coil, other wise you're essentially just boiling juice and getting fumes.

Thanks for the tip itskohler. I moved the coil closer to the air hole and it helped a lot.

No problem. Just goes to show coil building is only half of the equation. Airflow/wicking play just as much of a part.

You are blocking your full airflow with that ring under the tank, unless it's attached to the tank, or drill a few small holes in those dimples on the top cap of the Zmax for airflow, usually the tank sits in the recess where there is plenty of room for air intake, straight 510 connections like the Kanger Protank sit just a little above that top cap, I have the Zmax & this is what I figured out, hope it helps, good luck.. Also maybe try an extension adapter to raise it up a little 510 to 510 extension will raise that tank up enough to get a good airflow, or drill 3 or 4 holes in the dimples like the iTaste SVD's top ring has.
