I'm pretty new but I have a question I just can't find any useful info on. My go to mod at home is a lavatube v2.5. I usually use an atomic clone with a single 1.6 ohm micro coil. It works perfect for me. I was in a local shop the other day and seen a tug boat and really liked the look of it. When I get it home I notice that unlike my atomic you can't block off one hole. It's duals coils only. So I started in trying to figure it out. I got two coils...I think 28g 13 wrap micro coils. They was right around 3 ohms each. With them both on the resistance comes to 1.4 ohms. By the way I'm using cotton for the wick. Well, even at 15 watts it took like four seconds for them to start to glow. After wicking them they just are very weak for lack of a better term. Nothing close to the atomic. I figure my problem is the resistance is just two high. But I can't go much lower on the lavatube. I actually picked up a panzer clone because I like the looks but I'm not crazy about mech mods. Is the answer I simply can't put a dual coil rda on a regulated mod?? Any advice?

I haven't tried anything lower but if my math is right at 1.4 ohms and 15 watts I'm pushing 3 amps. That's the published limit on the lavatube from volcanos website. I could try to go a little lower. It's got a year warranty anyway I guess :) well I guess the whole point of regulated is it shouldn't let me do anything that would hurt it anyway. I'll try it tomorrow anyway

I just saw one of the DNA 30 mods a few days ago for the first time. Not sure what brands are good. I have looked into them much but I saw three or four with the DNA 30 chip for under 100 dollars. It's something I'm going to look into more for sure. I've only been vaping for about 4 months but it's turned into a full blown pastime at this point

Depends on your budget. I am currently using a Cloupor DNA 30 it was $69.99. It works great. Just make sure if you get one to buy from a vendor with the newest edition.
If you can afford it the Vapor Shark RDNA just came out 189.99. I prefer models like these where you can switch out the battery.
I am sure I will get a Vapor Shark in the very near future. There are lots of options, but those are two decent ones.

Do they have amp limits that you have to worry about?

I think it is around .5 ohms. I am sure others can chime in on them. In other words the coil build should be above that, but I have heard some people have gone lower with them. I know I am super happy with mine. With a Sony VTC 4 or VTC 5 battery you would be all set to enjoy your RDA. They have built in safety.
