RDA on Subox Mini

Hello, I plan to get my first rda, either velocity or hellboy. Wondering if anyone experience that it couldn't connect to the subox mini mod??

Also, anyone knows dual twisted coil, 5 wraps each 28ga at 3mm will get me around how much ohm? Sorry just like to visualize my coiling before even getting my rda! My ohm meter hasn't arrive yet.

There should be no reason why it wouldnt detect the RDA. just remember that the subox mini can only fire down to 0.3 ohms. so if you build lower than that, it will not fire.

That build should come up to about 0.4-0.5 ohms i think.

K box mini do not have adjustable 510 (not threaded and not spring loaded) so there are fitment issue with some atomiser.

Personally I don't have a k box mini. But I'm sure that dripper with protruding 510 screw can fit well!

I have 4 Royal Hunter drippers. The last two I bought a few weeks ago do not fire. The first two I bought some time ago do. So YMMV no matter what anecdotal info you get here. Unfortunately. It's probably not a good idea to buy a Subox kit if you plan to use other toppers.

I don't think I've had much if any of these troubles with my EVIC-VTC Mini, which is a very similar mod and also has temp control. I'm not buying any more Subox's just because of this problem.

ETA: I have a number of toppers that will not fire on the Subox mod. I thought I solved my problem with the Royal Hunter's until I bought the last two.

I am using a tugboat v3 clone rda on my subox and it worked great when I did a single coil. Now I'm doing a dual coil 0.5 ohms and it vapes fine but out of nowhere I saw the coils glowing red from the air-holes and received a scorching vape. It shows 0.0 ohms for 2 seconds and was alright for awhile till it happened again! Anyone has any experience on this?

maybe your cotton is too dry or try tighten the screws

Thanks for your suggestion! I realized that my coils were a little too high and could have touched the top airflow. So I lowered it and didn't happen ever since!!

so did you end up getting the velocity? I'm having the same dilemma now, questioning as to whether it would fit or not as well haha. Would like to know if it did for you!

Iirc it does fit, but I'd recommend you to upgrade to other spring loaded device

I had to google wth IIRC meant HAHA. how come the recommendation to spring loaded though and what specifically do you recommend?

Depends your budget, for low watt, vtc mini is good enough imho

with spring loaded you will solve majority of the 510 not detect issue.
