So my previous setup was an mvp 2.0 with an aspire nautilus bvc 1.8 coils. I wanted an upgrade as the 11 watts were no longer doing it for me anymore. So i purchased the new rdna 40, and put the same nautilus and using the same juice on it. But im vaping at 9 watts. It seems the device gives me a hot vape, 9 seems perfect, 10 -15 is hot, 16 and above is unbearable with a burnt taste. And this all depends on how frequent i vape. My question is, is this normal? Is something wrong with my rdna 40? Kinda bummed out cause my intentions were to have access to higher watts, but i am vaping at lower watts than i had with my mvp2.

The Nautilus isn't really designed for higher watts though they do handle it better than most clearos and I've heard of people using them up to about 20 watts. If you adjust the airflow ring so the draw is tighter it might help with the burnt hits but other than that you're probably looking at some type of rba to really be able to use higher watts.

Nah, you're doing good. Nauty's have really small chambers; essentially cartomizers. They start to burn around 17-20 watts with 50-50 blends, so I'm assuming you have a high VG blend, or your inhale faster than the wick can handle, or possibly both. Remember that you don't need to go high wattage to enjoy a great vape, and the nauty series is a great example of a high flavor tank!

If you want something that will use the full extent of your vaporshark on a tank without going RTA, I highly suggest you look up the new Atlantis tank.

Hope this helps!

As for vaping at a lower level on your rDNA, it's probably because it's more accurate. If it says it's giving 9W, it almost certainly is giving you exactly 9W.

Your MVP on the other hand, once you start going to the higher levels, it bumps up to it's own amp limit and will limit the voltage being supplied to the atomizer to prevent exceeding it.
