I recently came across this thread in here and since I am still a new member can't post to it! However, there was one problem I had with it's containing information. I did like the post one gentleman had that expressed another thread explaining the health risks of vaping VG which has veered me successfully I might add. but one gentleman had this to say:

Polyethylene Glycol was the one that could cause kidney problems. In fact, PEG is the active ingredient in laxatives and it says right on the bottle NOT to use the laxative if you have kidney problems. Everything I have read so far points to food grade glycerine being safe.

The only problem I had with this is that e-cigs, (unless there is a company doing it differently out there) don't use Polyethlene Glycol. In-fact they use Propylene Glycol most commonly referred to as PG. The standard mixture of chemicals can be found at Wikipedia on Electronic Cigarettes about halfway down the page!

For those interested in the forum that contained the harmful information on VG (Vegetable Glycerine) "Click Here" :pGood luck hope it all enlightens those who have had these troublesome questions!:2cool:

Some juice is being made with PEG, but it is a completely different molecular weight than the PEG used for lax's. (TW sells it and labels it as such, PEG that is)

Thanks for the heads up, I will be sure to keep my eyes open to those possibilities as I do not wish to purchase them! I have only one Kidney already and can't risk damaging it!

the atomizer does NOT get hot enough to convert vg into acetoin

I only remember seeing one place somewhere that used PEG and it said PEG, not PG

Re VG, I thought the temperatures of atomizers don't get hot enough to turn VG into anything bad

They don't and that was stated in the thread that the OP referred to. It's quite a long thread and it was started two years ago. If you read through the entire thread, then you will find that our atomizers do not get hot enough to convert VG into anything toxic. I think we can stop beating this horse now because it's dead.
