Second poster said it zoiDman, could be just me tho.

As far as my e-cigarette journey and questions... this forum rocks! like I said in another post this is my guiding light and I'm so thankful for all the information available. I was having some difficulty getting around this forum but some of the replies here have been very helpful. I'm having some vaping issues but some time, some experimenting and some more purchasing will be helpful.

I've never gotten logged out once. It must be your browser doing it to you. But I agree, I get annoyed when I start a thread asking a specific question and I'm told by someone to just find the answer in another thread. I like getting current, first hand information and being able to respond to it. What fun is just reading someone else's thread on the same topic that was posted two years ago?

But with any forum, there will Always be someone who will take something you say the wrong way sooner or later. It's just Forum Life. No Big Deal.

Mahiney, welcome to he ECF.

You shouldn't be getting logged out. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it's not usual.

Also, when you are busy making a post, it's continually updating and auto-saving. When you go back, it will ask you if you want to post saved content.

Search function isn't very good, but it sort of works. You are very welcome to start a new thread asking your question.

Easy way to search ECF, is with Google but use a format of:

Your question, items, keywords site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com

This will only return ECF posts with your keywords. Also if you look through the "Ask the Vets" forum section there is a lot of information without 72 replies and off topic discussions..:) Starting out I would read the new posts there, just to see what others were doing, having problems with, or suggestions. Learned enough to know what to believe, and what to ignore....

between here and there
I don't think mahiney was being rude or had a sour attitude, but rather very complimentary. Huh.

I wouldn't worry about asking questions if you can't find your answers via search. :)

I totally agree. I didn't read anything like some of the post are suggesting. I certainly didn't read anything demanding.

Ask your questions, if you have any. Those that don't wish to answer them are free to ignore them.

Remember, here on ecf. We don't attack the posters, just the post content itself.(subject)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My guess is that it would take an extremely long time to read everything here...

I agree. Every forum you go to and ask a question, someone always answers "read before you post a question because it has already been answered".

This attitude and rule makes forums useless in this day and age of immediate info because the time it takes to properly search for your answers then read all the threads that *hopefully* have the answer to your questions is more time than anyone usually has these days.

While I agree that asking the same questions over and over and having to answer them over and over are frustrating and make for a very unorganized forum with too many threads, there really is no way around it. If you don;t want to answer a question you answered 2 weeks ago, then simply don't answer and let someone else do it. Not everyone is good at searching because when you have no clue about a certain subject, using the right keywords for your search can be almost impossible....which in turn leads to fruitless searches.

The internet forum as it exists today has gone obsolete. But I still like it to some degree and it's still useful as long as it's members are patient and understanding that the medium they choose to congregate on, by design, is a frustrating one.

mahiney,

I apologize if I misread or overreacted to your post.

Perhaps what you said and what I heard were not the same thing. That is one of the inherent hazards of written communication, and one of the dangers of making an off the cuff statement like I did.

Let's vape.

Yes most every question has been answered, but for a n00b, which answer fits their problem? :)

Search for "getting a burnt taste" or "getting a burnt flavor" and the answers can be, but not limited to:
Try the "blue foam" mod, try the "tea bag" mod, get a BCC, get a top coil, remove a flavor wick, add a flavor wick, change your wick, use a cotton wick, ekowool wick, stainless steel wick, SS wire wick, use more PG in your juice, use less PG in your juice, get a REO, get a Provari, get a RBA, get a RDA, get a carto tank, if it's burning let go of the dang fire button....(I'm sure I missed a few....)
(actually they had a twist and didn't know it was adjustable:blink:)

The average n00b will have no idea which solution would apply to their situation, that's because they're n00b's... And they are having a nic fit.
A little patience and a high enough nic level (as was mentioned) in the experienced users, and a few questions back to the n00b should find a solution and create a new vaper.

I sympathize with the OP. I find it difficult thus far to search on this site even though it has a tremendous amount of brilliant info. I too keep getting logged off and have refrained from tryin to post my questions several times for having to log in again and losing my attempted post only to find I have to retype the thing. It took me quite a while to find this post and I'm gonna try to use some of the suggestions here. There seems to be good people and smart mouth people here as in the rest of the world. And though you certainly don't need new members, I think tryin to be decent in remarks to a newbie's first posts would be appreciated instead of attackin what could be a misunderstandin:) (smiley face so maybe I don't hurt somebody's feelins) Don't attack me I'm a newbie too:)

I agree. That's the reason I've stayed here - probably one of the reasons I stopped smoking. If this was one of those forums that it was acceptable to say "google is your friend" or look it up or watch videos- I would have been long gone.

I never felt I couldn't ask a question- and I asked a ton of them when I started.

Also, individual members are extremely helpful and most don't mind a PM if you have a question. I certainly don't. :D
