Reason for extremely harsh clearomozer?

Hello. Ordered an Elite 808, and starting "vaping" a couple weeks ago. The standard Elite cartomizers that came with it work great, but I'm not sure when I should fill them, and I over fill them a lot (starts dripping out the bottom). Because of this, I ordered the Elite Clear and Easy clearomizers. I read that these are supposed to have a milder "throat hit," but I've found them to be extremely harsh. Like inhaling a $0.50 cigar harsh. The regular Elite cartomizers with the same liquid vapes really smooth. I'm using 100% VG liquid from Viking Vapor.

Perhaps the clearomizer doesn't wick thicker liquid well, and causes the atomizer to overheat... or something? I'm new to this stuff, so I really don't really know what's going on.

I'm using 100% VG liquid because inhaling a vegetable product sounds safer than inhaling a petroleum product (PG) If the problem is that the Elite clearomizers don't wick thick liquid well, can anybody recommend a clearomizer that does?

Thanks. And I'm surprised how satisfying vaping really is. I've had no urge to smoke a cigarette since I've got my kit. In fact, I like vaping more than smoking.

80/20 PG/VG is best for cartos. 70/30 will work with most juices. More VG than that and you may have issues. You can dilute your juice with distilled water or PGA. Try thinning a small amount (3-5ml) in case you goof. A couple of drops, shake, put a drop on your finger to check viscosity, repeat until you get it where you want it. I'd suggest dripping it in an atty for a vape-test before wasting a carto if the flavor gets too muted. And of course, wash your hands.

It is a tank mod for cartomizers/clearomizers and I just built one today, works fabulous and is easy to fill. I would suggest, if you do try this, to add a fill port

Boodle nailed it. 100%VG isn't going to work well in ANY carto, whether it's a Clearomizer or not. I use 60PG/40VG in my Dual Coils, but that's pushing it. I have tried 50/50, which worked alright as long as I remembered to wait a minute or so between vapes. That's a little hard for me to do because I vape like a steam engine!

I use the Liquinator DCC tank now and it's working with the 60/40 like a charm! I was never a fan of the Clearos because they need a lot of fiddling and I never could get them to work right.
