Rebuild materials

I red up on rebuilds and the more I read the more confused I get. Going to rebuild pro tank. And I would like some input on what size Kanthal to use, and silica wick or cotton, and braided silica wick or regular. Mind you this is my first rebuild I would like to burn at 1.8 ohms, how many wraps for this. Is this a science or a trial and error...

Personally for a protank rebuild I would use 30g A-1 kanthal.
With a 8/7 wrap micro coil around a 1/16th(1.5mm) drill bit or mandrel with organic cotton wick. Should be around 1.8
Just YouTube protank rebuild there are plenty of tutorials that should get ya going. Also if you have android phone d/l vapors toolbox.
And get an ohm meter if u don't have one.
