I've been failing miserably rebuilding my protank coils. I think I need a coil that will make it easier to do this. I bought a 50-pack of pre-built wicks at FT (that was another struggle getting those stupid windings nice and neat!)
Any recommendations for a replacement rebuildable coil that makes things easier? When shopping for one, what specs do you look for?

Hey Franki: I’ve been using the 28 Gauge Kanthal 12 Wrap Micro Coil on my Protank II’s both the Regulars and Minis with Great Results! 1.8 Ohms. You’ll find the Micro coils are Much Easier to install and maneuver because of they way they are built! 100% Natural Rolled Cotton for Wicks! Rip Trippers has a pretty good video to show you how it’s done! And He is a Trip!

Skullman! Thanks for turning me on to that video. Like RT showed in the video, I took out my rubber grommet and didn't seat the coil post all the way down. Wow, quite a difference. It's funny because I always thought the grommet was what keeps the liquid from coming up the pipe :)

I'll have to find out the difference between a micro coil and the stock PT coil though, because they look the same to me.

Thanks pal.

Hey Franki: Glad it Helped Ya! The grommet does help to keep liquid from going up when the post is seated all the way down. I believe the difference in the Stock, Regular Build Coils and the Micro Coil is the gauge of wire number of windings and that they are touching each other fused together with torch and tweezers. What gauge wire and how many wraps with the coils you are using or building? Are they spaced apart?

Though I recently got back to tank Cartomizers after finding the Ikenvape 801 Fusion Punch Carto's I'm a Big Fan of the Protank II Line. I have many PV's to choose from so I keep a device on many so I can just reach out and Vape a Different Flavor! If you are Building your own Coils you might what to check out DarkZero's Coil Building Jig it makes for easy consistent building of your coils!
