Welcome aboard

Before you try replacing the wick in your PT2 atty head, try cleaning the head. Here's how I do it.
If my instructions are unclear I've included a video.
How to clean your Kanger Protank Coil - YouTube

Atomizer Cleaning

Soak in 91% Isopropyl alcohol or everclear/vodka over night or until I get 5-6 to clean.
Rinse throughly with warm tap water forcing water into the wick area.
Towel dry and blow out any water.
Mount the head on a tank base.
Remove the gasket and stem.
Remove the flavor wick(s).
Mount the tank base with the atomizer head on your PV.
Dry burn 6 watts, 5 seconds on/off. Repeat until coils are all turning red and wick is clean.
Blow the burned off crud away.

Hold the flavor wick with tweezer while burning them with a lighter or torch until wick is clean.
-Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil.
Or
-Replace the flavor wick with the material of your choice.

Reinstall the stem and gasket.

I recommend rebuilding them. The Kanthal is cheap, so are the cotton balls. I've estimated the rebuild to be about $0.03 per atomizer. Once your experienced with it, it's about 2 min a pop. If you are winding them for the recommended value of 1.8 - 2.5 ohms (32 AWG, 5 times around a 1/16" allen key), I've had some last over 2 weeks (12-18ml) of fluid. However, if you want a different experience with your vapor, grab some 28 AWG wire and wrap it 4 times around a 1/16" allen key. That will get you down to .8 - 1.1ohms. MASSIVE VAPOR CLOUD!!! :vapor:

From other's mistakes, you must learn, young padawan.
Only run below 1.5 if you have a mechanical mod. DO NOT do it with an ego battery, I have melted two batteries doing that.
Make sure you are using "organic" cotton. There are some cotton balls that have been bleached. Yeah, you can actually taste the bleach... It is nasty.

This brings old memories.
I used to make 1.5 builds on a mech with 28AWG (actually it was 0.3mm but close enough).
On the other hand i wouldn't sub ohm with a PT it's too cramped and too poorly built.
If you want to sub ohm do it properly with an RDA
