Just sharing my experience. I started rebuilding my coils last week, and ran into all sorts of issues but now I have it!! I'm taking the Kanger Dual coils apart (watched ALL the videos I could find) and had shorts and odd ohm readings and all kinds of issues but I think I have finally figured out what I needed to do. I was rebuilding the v3 dual coils (two holes on each side in the metal sleeve that slips on over the coils, but had major issues with gurgling and flooding. I watched a video from a guy in Germany and he was stuffing a bit of cotton in the holes so I tried that and it kind of works. I went to my local Vape shop and talked with a sales man there. I told him I wish I could have the version 2 coils as there is only the holes at the bottom of the sleeve and thought it would be easier to slow the juice coming in. Well he went in back, grabbed that model and gave me the 5 pack no charge. WOW!! So came home, pulled out the coils and wound up my 30 gage 9 times. After getting the grommet and metal pin in, with the wire wrapped around a 1/16 drill bit, I twisted off the ends of the wire rather than snipping them. 1.8 ohms!!! Perfect just what I wanted. Fed the cotton in with wings protruding just past the cup of the coil after cutting the excess. I stuffed some of the cotton a little under the coil and pushed the rest straight up in the groove of the coil housing. I slipped the metal sleeve over making sure no cotton was sticking out the bottom where the sleeve meets the cup. Then carefully with a pick, moved the cotton down to the holes in the sleeve and it started to protrude a bit. I grabbed the cotton with tweezers and pulled it out, cut off a bit more and spread it out. Put the chimney back on, tested 1.8 ohms still, then put it on my base of my Aerotank 2 and let it sit in the tank until I felt it was saturated. Started my cautious vaping session and OMG!!!! Cloud and taste was great, but still today its going strong and no gurgle or flooding!!! Must have gone through 4 or 5 tanks so far!!! Im vaping at 3.8 volts by the way. Its so awesome I just wanted to share my experience. Thanks for reading, hope this helps. Not sure why twisting the wire off keeps it from shorting but I have built 5 coils now with the same results just to test for shorts. ::):vapor::vapor:

VAPE ON!!!

Congrats. I started out by rebuilding kanger coils. Learning on such tiny heads really helped me sharpen my skills. I mostly use RTA's now but still have a couple of Aerotanks in circulation.

I even made a blog of how I rebuild my dual kanger coils into a single microcoil. You can see it by clicking the "2" next to blog entries under my avatar. Since you've found a way that works really well you should consider taking some pics and making a blog yourself and help some people out. The more info out there the better!

Hey Btsmokincat... I just checked your Blog. Excellent work. I have the same torch. Was as little bummed it didn't have an igniter but I really like it now. I actually viewed your blog when first started looking at what others had done. If I had that version of coil I'd have never needed to look further. :2cool::):):)
