I'm not sure what the problem is. Even if there's so much wick that I can barely take a hit, they still do it. Sometimes they work... they will do it right after I fill the tank and then stop after I blow the excess juice out of the tube. But usually they will just keep going until I change the head. I don't get it.

I rebuild with 30awg kanthal, 3/32 id contact coil, and a single piece of peaches and cream cotton yarn. No flavor wick. I also use areo bases on my PT2's. My coils come in it 1.8 +/- .1/.2 usually with 9-10 wraps. I rarely have any gurgling or full on flooding. Given the nature of the design, what I do get is dry or burnt hits if not waiting about 45 seconds to a full minute at least between long drags. I also run them at about 9 watts, vs 15 watts or so on my Kayfuns. Since switching to Kayfun lite plus toppers, I am having a much better experience. so much so I have started taking my "house" mod out and about, because the Kayfun's won't fit in my VTR until I modify it. I don't like using the extension tube.

This link has some good info on rebuilding Kanger single coill heads.

EDIT... Your draw can affect this problem too. Drawing to hard will suck too much juice into the head and cause nasty gurgles.
