Nice to see something from the media written like that. Almost as if they are trying their hand at *gasp* journalism, instead of spin.

“It boggles my mind why there is a bias against e-cigarettes among antismoking groups,” Dr. Siegel said.

What he fails to take into account is that "antismoking" need to be, in many cases, split into two words. The underlying mentality in many is the desire to control the actions of others and prevent them from doing something they want to do. The 'smoking' aspect is a mere convenience, since it's popular and pretty much impossible to defend. If smoking were to vanish tomorrow, would the anti's go with it? Of course not. They'd pick up a different drum and march on.
