Hi all,

I was curious if anyone knows of a mod that is similar to the Mutant mod or the Maraxus. I like the style of the bottom firing button and how you don't have to lock it before setting it down.

I was thinking of purchasing a clone of the Mutant but I didn't want a 26650 sized mod just yet. I was also considering the Maraxus as well but even though that is an 18650, it's just as bulky.

Does anyone know of an 18650 sized mod similar to the Maraxus and Mutant?

Thanks!

Have been vaping on the El Gigante Style mech clone for 2 days now, and has quickly become me fave.

Nice short stature and center push, snuggest batt fitment known to Vapekind.!!! Do have the Copper Mutant Style clone arriving tomorrow, so vapecited about that.

Not familiar with any 18650 center pushes, though the Authentic Stingray Copper Black is my fave mech in that form factor. The clones switch & locking ring isn't as well made as the Authentic on this one.

Launcher has a recessed button. Little goofy looking though.... $18.08 Launcher V2 Telescopic Mechanical Mod - with logo at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

the Scorpid... $20.34 Scorpid Mechanical Mod - 1*18650 / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Paragon... Paragon Mechanical Mod Clone - 101 Vape

I have two GP Paps clones from fasttech that have a locking ring with little "feet" that supposedly can stand without being locked but the tolerances are off a little and you have to use the locking ring. That being said it's a great mod! $15.38 PAPS Style 18650 Mechanical Mod - brass tube at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There are more but those are the first few off the top of my head...

If you're shopping for clones, I'd avoid the 4nine clones. I'm sure there are some good ones but mine is a bit of a lemon. It's sized perfectly but the tolerances are off leading to misfires and the metallurgy is atrocious as I'm polishing the damn thing after every use. It works but it's a bit too fussy to be put into regular rotation.

The Atomo V2 and Gnome clones on fasttech have the same recessed, magnetic switch and it is amazing. I would go so far as to say that my Gnome clone is the best all-around mech I've found on fasttech but it only comes with one 18650 tube whereas the Atomo comes with 3. My stainless Gnome hits as hard as my brass stingray and looks great.

If you don't mind a spring-loaded recessed switch there are many options.

Why does the 4nine need to be treated with care?

You have to know what you're doing (which you should when using any mech mod to begin with). But the hybrid adapter with some atty's is a guaranteed dead short and some users won't know what to do or what is happening.

The AR mod has a recessed firing button. Doesn't even have a locking ring. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I think it would be really hard to fire it unintentionally.

Actually not as hard as you think. I managed to do it on my Atomo V1. Hence why I now have V2s with locking rings now. :)

You're welcome. :) the 4nine is one of those mods that should stay out of the hands of those that never user a mech mod and not familiar with adjusting pins on the mods and atomizers. Something could go wrong really wick without even trying. The new Stingray X mod is almost as bad with it's hybrid top cap.
