Recommend a mod for me? VV that doesn't look like a grenade or pipe bomb.

My first concern is that I travel a lot. All over the world. Occasionally this means the US and the hostile TSA (as infrequently as possible) but other countries' also have security that can be as irritating (Charles de Gaulle and Heathrow I would say is equal and Schiphol, Changi and Narita has given me issues from time to time.). Looking over mods these past few days, too many look like pipe bombs. :)

I was very interested in the ProVari but I would waste a ton of time in airport security with that. It even has what could be mistaken for a countdown timer window. I know, I can explain it and demonstrate it, but if you travel as much I must, you are aware that any small issue these days, coupled with a mistake in reply due to massive jetlag and long flying times, could easily get you put in a small windowless room.

I am not joking. Happened to me in Seattle (worst airport in the world!) over a sample product that, from a strange angle and if you were a <strong word that means very dumb>, could be mistaken for some kind of IED. Biggest problem is it needed a specific power supply to demonstrate that I didn't have. That is a long story and covered by NDA.

Another concern is trying to be discreet with it. Some of the countries I goto (like Singapore) have import bans on ecigs, and I do not want to draw any attention to it.

Bottom line, making sure my ecig does not cause any potential issues, from even the stupidest and most ignorant of minds is a top priority. I am most interested in VV mods that are durable, low maintenance (no need for a screwdriver or dissasembly to adjust), portable and that ship internationally. No budget really but if I can buy a motorcycle for the price, that would be too much.

I was looking at some wooden ones, but wood has a poor track record in humid climates and its quite humid where I live. Its not out though, if the wood is assured to be durable.

Thanks!

Jazz Carto-Pipe (Jazz cartopipe the first Cartomizer Pipe) is supposed to be coming out with a VV switch for their NoEgo line of mods. The eGo VV switch is relatively new, so if you really like it, I'm sure other vendors will be carrying it soon.

I've read where others who travel a lot will disassemble their PVs and store the parts in different areas of their luggage. Disassembled, they are less 'pipe bombish'. :)

have you though about a reo mini. small compact when the atty is off. also just a great mod in general. and just use low res atties.

Unfortunately, the Reo doesn't work for easy travel. Liquids need to be in a separate container and will be a pain to constantly take out and put back in. Also, liquids attached to electronics can be an issue with security. I've had 3 portable dehumidifiers confiscated, and countless hours wasted being pulled over for "special screening" because of them, and finally gave up traveling with them back in 2004/5. I get really dry on airplanes, which gets me sick, and they were sooo helpful - but stupid security :(. Now I am forced to make my own crappy one from stuff on plane galleys on long flights.

I like the idea of a juice mod but VV is my main desire at this point. I'm a newbie and want to be able to try out every cartomizer, juice, atomizer, tank mod, etc. The way I see it, a VV mod is the best way to go for this. I have no battery issues. The joye batteries are good for me as usb charging is perfect for travel as I am all setup to do this compactly and on the plane and so forth. Having to add a funky battery charger to my travel mix is not a positive, so all the battery mods don't hold attraction for me ATM.

Actually, I am looking for a mod to be my daily all around which I will use on the plane, not carry in my bags. My airline (Cathay Pacific) is currently vape friendly. I became interested in vaping after seeing a guy blowing vapor in the air on a recent flight back home, while I was sitting in my seat doing my normal sucking on niccorette and taking ambient to put my self unconscious and kill the cravings.

Thanks man, I will keep an eye on that. Happyvaper is working on a way to ship to me, so I will hold my breath and cross my fingers for that. I didn't realize it was new. If Happyvaper can't find a way to ship to me, maybe I will start badgering other suppliers to try and stock it :).

If it all fails, is there nothing similar to this? This kind of thing, using a standard battery and just adding VV in a compact addon is really a perfect idea.

The Terminator was a VV addon device that is contained in a 901 atomizer shell. They are not being made any longer; but you could post a 'want ad' in the classifieds (Classifieds and swaps) sub-forum.

Or if your into modding or have a friend who is who would help out, the second link below has a parts list and schematic for making one (in which case, you could put it in whatever type of atty that would work)

@hisfattness, I will definitely try and post up some impressions (can't do actual reviews as I'm too noob to have experience enough to compare). Hopefully Happyvapes ships it all out on Monday :).

Thanks vapor pete! That looks nice but I don't see a VV feature to that. Its all good, I think that order will be my last for a while. I'm not even through week 2 yet and I've broken the $1k mark
