I've been happily using a saber touch tube mod for almost a couple years now. Liked it and had no need to get anything else.

Unfortunately, tonight I lost it, and no chance of it coming back. (Fell out of my pocket, unknowingly, into a swamp while duck hunting....so it's gone for good.)

What's your recommendations for a replacement? I'm sure there are lots of new mod's available since I bought the saber touch. Not up to date with the current options, so looking for some help.

Still have atleast one set of good 16340 battery's, and a charger for them. The rest are either useless, or somewhere in the bottom of a pond with the my saber touch, and tank setup.

Was considering the joyetech EVIC, mostly cause I can go to a local shop and pick it up tomorrow. Don't like that it doesn't have battery's that can be swapped out. I could care less about the other fancy stuff it does. Interesting, but I just want a unit I can use all day. Spare batteries confirms that.

If anyone can provide insight as to the EVIC battery life, I'd like to know, but I don't know If I could get all day use out of it. Would be great if I could though. Not expecting that to work, so looking for some recommendations for something else... I'm willing to go with whatever fits the bill... something with 16340 batts would be nice, (since I have some here.....), but not required.

thanks.

I wouldn't recommend getting an evic. The main reason is because the threading can be easily stripped. I passed down my evic to my father-in-law and he's annoyed that the evods he is using wiggles when it's fully threaded.

I've been looking at the svd and the lambo 6.0. However, the lambo has some problems according to pbusardo (A PBusardo Review - A Heads Up on the Lambo 6.0 - YouTube)

Here's an old thread I found about the threading...

I have to ask how you concluded the evic doesnt have removable batteries.they even sell different size tubes to use different size batteries.

To be honest I didn't know either way, I guess the ability of the passthru charging capability may have led me to the possibility that maybe it didn't. After some minimal research it is obvious it has removable battery's. Maybe sub-consciously I mistakenly assumed it didn't on my original post... Either way it would be nice to get a full day of use on a single charge. Something I haven't been able to do yet.

Have you used an Evic? If so your impressions? Really my biggest reason for the evic would be cause it's easily available, and exchangeable/returnable locally from a actual store front location. Love buying stuff online, and I do often, but if there are any issues, in the end I lose out, via the local guy I can just bring it back to. That and being a small business owner myself, I appreciate the value of buying local when it makes sense, so I'll give him first chance...
Thanks!

personally I dont own an evic, just checking as I didnt want you to be misinformed. the battery that comes with the evic is pretty big 2600mah and then you could even get bigger like the 2900mah panasonics. I see no reason why they shouldnt last well past a day.

the best thing to do really is head over to the evic subforum and see how actual users feel about their devices to help form a better opinion.

if I was in the same boat and your not interested in all the fancy features, I think for the cheaper mods I would get one of the sigeilei zmax versions. but no experience with that one either lol (again check the max subforum)

I've only been using my SVD for a couple of weeks, but really am impressed with it. Picked it over the Vamo and Evic since it's all stainless, very solidly made. And a local B&M was having a "kit" sale that was close enough to online (not China) to be worth supporting.

It came with a 2000 mA battery, and of course added a second, but purchased a couple of 2900's and a better charger.

But the 2000 easily gets me into a second day's vaping, and with a fresh 2900, other than something small for an emergency failure, I don't even think about running out of power.

Good feature set - and the ability to lock the power/voltage setting is great.
