Start cheap, go for the K100/101 or the Chi You/Nemesis clones. They go around 17-30USD for one. The ohm checker on the MVP should do fine.
Not much to add to this. I could toss out a few more $30 mechs... but no point, around $30 will get you a decent one. The only valuable info I can add is to buy good batteries. Efests, or... AW IMRs if you can find and afford them... and a good charger.

You may want to invest in a decent DMM. The ability to test battery voltage, continuity... and the resistance of coils without screwing into a MVP every time is very convenient and helpful.

I'm good on batteries, I am able to get those batteries you suggested from where I am. As for the DMM, do you use the standard pins that comes with it or do you mod it so you could thread it with an atomizer?

The standard leads and test probes are usually adequate. You can buy bayonet type alligator clips if you might find them useful.
Be advised... the really cheap DMMs tend to have internal resistance. Not much... usually no more than 0.2-0.3Ω... but that needs to be subtracted from what ever you test... if the DMM you buy does have that internal resistance.

I suppose, one could easily build a test adapter from a 510 extension... so that's an option.

Hello everyone, I've been really interested in diving into the world of RBAs/RDAs. Would using a mechanical with rebuildables be advicable? If so, whats a good entry-level mechanical to start out with? Also, would the ohm checker on the MVP 2 be sufficient for checking resistance on rebuilds?

Yes Buonosera, using a RDA seriously bring out the taste and favour of the juice. I tried the same juice on a tank and dripper. It is total different.

Like others seniors here had adviced me before. Start with a single core dripper and get a VV/VW for a start. As single coil is easier to do and also to avoid sub-ohms caused by dual coils. VV/VW is better as it can set the voltage or walts as this will also avoid damaging your batt n mod. Some can even read what ohms you build for the coil.

As for model.. i started with igo-W(dual coil- 6USD) but only used one side. and Tesla vv/vw mod. Try 3828 Electronic Cigarettes at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping. many to choose with affordable prices. As for batt, i bought mine at sim lim tower basement. Is good to invest more on a better and trustworthy batteries. (Panasonic 18650 $20/p)

Just remember KISS - Keep it sweet & simple

Using RBA or RDA bring out the real taste. I tried some many mods and mechanical is real good deal with RBA and RDA.

Tried on Immortalizer dripper, the internals has a ceramic and the flavour and taste really bring you to the limits.

Good and pure flavour from a dripper is what I keep hearing everyone say, that's one of the main reason why I really want to get into RDAs.

I'm assuming you are a RDA user so, do you use a DMM or the ohm checker on an APV?

i use my MOD to check the ohms.. but i do have my ohms meter too.. And yes i am a RDA user.. nothing beat the taste with that. Just only you need to refill more often as the well is small..

That's why my keychain is the Innokin uCan. Best purchase ever. :D

A proper ohm meter made for vapers are really useful when rebuilding your RDA. Better than trying to balance it on your PV.

I'm trying to get hold of a dedicated ohm meter for ecigs but they seem to always be out of stock. Do you have recommendations?

And i just saw the uCan, it looks awesome!

It is awesome. Mine has lasted me for more than a year. You can basically refill any type of tanks or atty with it. You can squirt or you can drip. IMO, all vapers should own one. :D

As for a dedicated ohm meter, IMO, anyone will do. They are all the same to me.

And if you are asking about where to get it, I'm afraid I can't help you.

Haha, don't worry, I'm not asking where to get it. Was looking for "brands" and the like.

What are the benefits of owning one? The thought of needing to clean it makes me back away from it.
