Today was day one of the big leagues for me. My eGo Twist and Vivi Nova v2 came in.

...but I dropped it.

...broke the plastic tank.

So I'm in the market for a new tank and some new liquid while I'm at it.

Thing is, I'm not sure if it was the cart or liquid (Johnson Creek Tundra - 1.8) but this thing hit hard as hell. Like 2x harder than an unfiltered cigar. My lungs are used to plenty of abuse (5 1/2 year cigarette smoker) but this was a new level. Bare in mind that the ego was also on the lowest voltage.

Vivi Nova seemed like a good idea. Rebuildable seemed like a good way to go. Even tried the different coil heads and another liquid (Winston 2.4). Still harsh.

As far as liquid goes, I really like menthol. The disposable blu menthols have been my favorite so far. I'd like for my lungs to know something was in them (other than air) but not feel like they were going to explode. Johnson Creek seems legit but the Tundra had a little too much punch.

TL;DR I want to blow smoke like a dragon, for it to taste like a blu dispsable, and as little *pain* in my lungs as possible.

Here is a good tank for yah Reviews: GotVapes ViVi NOVA Metal Tube Cover - BLACK [gv-VIVINOVA-MetalTube-BLACK] - $3.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more and as far as menthol juice my friend swears by Halo ejuices and he was a heavy newport smoker : )

Nice. That'd definitely make it unbreakable... do you think getting a lower nicotine (say buying the 1.1 instead of 1.8) would take away some of the punch?

Is there anything I can add to the juice to lower it? I saw a tutorial about making their own and I noticed they mixed it with food grade glycerine... would that help?

Floss, you are at the vaping stage we all have been at. You want the flavor you love all day and the atomizer/cartomizer to give it to you. You probably would love the atomizer/caromizer to last you forever at 5 bucks a pop. Finding that all day vape flavor is the hardest part to all this. It took me awhile. If you love menthol I would recommend buying menthol crystals and adding a small amount to flavors you like and see how that goes. I'm not a menthol person but my son is and I know I got him menthol crystals and he loves adding them to his flavors :)

Getting rid of punch could be the result of many things besides just you nic level. Has to do with wattage, cartomizer/attomizer ohms, PG to VG ratio, etc ......... What are you working with exactly?

And like MiamiMom63 said it takes alot of time, research and tinkering to reach the "Sweet Spot"

*Joyetech eGo Twist 650mAh - adjustable between 3.2 & 4.8 volts
*Vision Vivi Nova v2. 3 coil heads - 1.8, 2.4 & 2.8 ohms
*Johnson Creek - Red Oak (VG) - Tundra e-liquid. 1.8% nicotine
*Wensten e-liquid (bought at local smoke shop) 2.4% nicotine.

haha. damn does this place feel like tomshardware right now.

I dunno what to tell you exactly. Been rereading your posts. Not sure exactly what you are looking for. The vivi nova is a fancy clearomizer to me. It seems to diminish throat hit and flavor. But that's just me. I'm a dripper so go figure. As far as a great menthol, menthol lovers are probably the hardest to please in vaping. I still recommend finding a non menthol flavor and buying menthol crystals to add to it. I"m sorry if I can't help you.

I've got pure PG, 50/50, and "pure" VG here. I'm vaping some VG green tea and it has no, none, nada throat hit from a boge 2.0 catro. But, with PG, I have sandpaper throat, also boge.

Both are 24mg liquids. I don't see how nic and throat hit can be even remotely related.

The VG counteracts the throat hit, so even though you have 24mg either way, the PG juice will be more harsh.
Also, don't confuse heat with throat hit. A lot of people make that mistake and talk about how lowering the resistance, or increasing the voltage, increases throat hit. It doesn't. It might make the throat hit more apparent, if contrasted with low wattage vaping, but it is not the same thing. You can get a "hit" sensation by substituting heat for throat hit, but that only goes so far and you eventually run into the issue of burnt taste if you try to compensate for lack of nicotine by increasing the heat.

Nicotine is responsible for throat hit. VG mutes it, PG doesn't. Simple as that.

It sounds like it's burning the wick or something when you vape it for you to taste that. hmmm. To me it sounds like it's not vaping well for you. I avoid clearomizers because that's how it is. Sometimes they vape great and other times they burn.

I'm with MiamiMom63 on that last post. That sounds like burnt wick to me as well. You might want to try some different juices as well I was originally using a Blu that uses Johnson Creek juice, for giggles I tried a puff off one of my friends the other day and could not stand the taste. My all day juice is Backwoods Brew Casablanca at 12mg on a good day and 18mg on a stressful one lol. It's not menthol but darn tasty and smooth as butter on the right setting : )

I bought some more Johnson Creek liquid... Arctic Menthol and Wisconsin Frost - both at 1.1%. Guess I'm still stuck on finding something like the blu disposables (which say Johnson Creek on the back of the package).

When I put an old blu cart on, (refilled with same liquid as in Vivi Nova... partially I guess) it seems to give me what I want.

I hope the Nova works out. Still giving it a second shot with different liquid and a metal tube this time. Like I said, I really like the concept but if it stays too strong I'm gonna have to chuck it.

Ok first off welcome to ECF,

Now besides the nic lvls, you didn't say how long you have been vaping, or if you are using the proper inhalation technique. or what you have used before other than the blu.

Now I might be wrong on this, but I don't think blu puts out near what the twist does voltage wise even if the twist in on the lowest. Add to that the difference between the vivi nova and the blu cartos, and it may take a couple days to get use to, also don't use the lr head on the twist. It will give more vapor yes, but it will give you even more of what you don't want right now.
