HI,
I have a Morpheus v2 running a 0.5ohm on a kbox, the battery i use is a efest 20A 3100 mah

i run the kbox at 30w works very well for me and love it to bits, but the battery only lasts about 12/14 hours, im a fisherman at sea for longer than this, is the an alternative battery that could get me to about 18/20 hours ? with sleep that would total 24.

really appreciate any help, thanks, alex.

Someone will be along who knows a lot more than me, but for that wattage I'd likely spring on a pair of Samsung 25R from illumn.com and see if they fit the bill. Usually $5-$6 each there. LG makes some cells that might better fit the bill, but I know little about them.

hi,
thanks for the reply, i get confused on all the different w/mah the ones i use at the mo are 3100 mah which is bigger than the samsung ones, which my brain tells me should be better, but im game to try anything, they used to last 36 hrs in my carto set up lol

Youre lucky to get 12 hours from an 18650 running at .5 ohms.

Im guessing you dont vape that much.

The reason I say that is because I use a 3ohm carto at 5 volts (or about 8 watts) and I get 12 hours from my AW battery.

I hate to say this but I dont think they make a single 18650 thats gonna work for 24 hours and fit your style of vaping.

The tech for that isnt available yet, though they are working on it.

zapped makes a valid point, though I used to get about 12-16 awake hours from my 25R on a Kayfun 4 running 0.6 ohms mech. That was pulling them at 3.6-3.7 volts, so I'd expect another 6-8 hours if I was using them down to 3.2 volts.

The best answer is to carry an extra battery (in a battery case), but it sounded like that may not be feasible for you. If it is, that's the simple solution. Looking at some of Mooch's data, you might try the Samsung 30Q or the LG HG2 if you want to shoot for longest run time.

LG HG2:
18650 LG 18650HG2 3000mAh High Discharge Flat Top - Batteries - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers

Samsung 30Q:
18650 Samsung 3000mAh INR18650-30Q High Discharge Flat Top - Batteries - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers

Battery holder (to protect the ends of the battery and avoid it shorting in pocket, bag, etc)
1 x 18650 Silicone Holder (DayGlow Orange) - Battery Carriers - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers

These items can be gotten elsewhere, possibly for less, but I just buy all my batteries from Illumination Supply, and haven't had a problem yet.

The longest running battery for that wattage level is going to be the LG HG2 3000mAh. It will last longer than the Efest (due to the Efest's exaggerated ratings), but not by much. They just don't make an 18650 that will go that long before needing recharging.

The point is becoming clearer. At that ohm coil used, you're not going to find a battery to last most of the day, period.

    You have three choices:
    • Increase your coil resistance so that you are not pulling so many amps from the battery
    • Carry extra batteries with you (store them in plastic battery cases).
    • Buy a parallel dual battery mod which uses two batteries side by side.

Don't be tempted to use a battery like the Panasonic or Orbtronic 18650A or 18650B with 3200 mah and 3400 mah, respectively. Their amp rating (less than 7 amp CDR) is not acceptible for today's modern vaporizers.

Do not use an ICR chemistry battery. Although they have more mah than an IMR, they don't have the amps for a personal vaporizer.

Get a 4 bay charger. I recommend the Nitecore Intellicharger, just because thats the one Ive used for a couple of years.

The wife and I rotate through 6 batteries, 2 in our mods and the rest charging at all times. the great thing about the intellicharger is that it stops charging a battery when its full, as well.

I always leave home with a fresh battery in my mod and one in a protective silicone sleeve in my front pocket.

Just be careful buying on Ebay, lots of fakes and rewraps about that place.. I gotta second d4ggers nod to Illumination Supply. I buy all my batteries from them now and my quad of Samsung 25Rs are rocking it. The two pairs of LGs I have (HE2s and HE4s) came from Ebay sellers and while they were bought at the same time I bought my 25Rs they are not holding up like the Samsungs are. Im still not sure if I got bunk LGs or if those just dont cut it against the Samsungs in general, but I make sure to stay away from Ebay nowadays for anything vape related. I like the fact that if you buy your batteries in pairs from Illumination, they throw in a free battery case too.
