Title pretty much sums it up, looking for a chuck that closes all the way so I can grasp a single piece of kanthal and have it centered just like a drill bit would be. Both my drills dont close enough and ive always had to rig it all janky into the side so the wire is off-centered and wobbly when spinning. Looking for recommendations of what you have, use, and know that it does in fact do what im talking about here. Thanks

twisting 2 ..3..or 4 wires ? I use a paper clip .and form to an open hook . used larger once with no problems.
take a chunk of wire and twist the ends hold with plyers and hook the loops on the paper clip and go to town.
for four wire twists ( I use 4 strands a lot ) 34 gage ..use two twisted loops to hook over the paper clip.but to get an even twist I use two locking plyers one for each pair let them dangle down and twist them that way . they are the same weight . so have the same tension on each pair . so getting nice and even twists . hope it helps
ps if you want to straighten a single wire form a small loop twisted on one end hook it on the paper clip and use plyers to put tension on the other end

I bought a Ryobi D43K at Home Depot a couple of years ago. It works great and the chuck closes fully.
