I've been thinking about upgrading to a bigger e-cig. Something that will give me the satisfaction similiar to using my 901 with a passthrough. I love the 901 because it produces a warmer vapor, lots of vapor and flavors taste better.
(I need to get away from being tethered to a passthrough. Batts for it are a PITA.)

I have a Janty that I use when I go out, but am not thrilled about it because for me, it doesn't produce a warm enough vapor and the flavors don't come through. Even with a 901 adapter, it just doesn't cut it for me.

What I'm looking for is:
Something that is portable.
Rechargeable batts long lasting
Produces a warm vapor like the 901
Produces a lot of vapor
Uses carts
Higher voltage - 5volts?
Doesn't cost me my first born.

I was thinking SB, but am unsure.

What would you recommend and why. Thanks bunches for your help:)

If you like the warm vape of the PT then I would highly suggest a 5v device and not a 6v.

There are several on the market:
http://Nhaler.com has the Xhaler unit. 3.7,5 and 6v
GLV from http://greatlakesvapor.com 5v
Prodigy from http://puresmoker.com 5v
might have missed someone.

If you use 901s I wouldnt even try a 6v, you will pop that atty faster than you can put it on.. lol They dont do well, imo, to higher volts as in 6v.

The GLV is my favorite although I did like the Prodigy. just had switch problems with it. They have a new switch that is suppose to be working now.

There is also the new unit sabertouch by Home Page
that is 5v.

:):)Thanks for the replies everyone!! Hadn't thought about the Tornado. Will have to give that a look as well as the LR atty's. I did take a look at the batt mods but got a headache after awhile trying to digest the information.

Pretty sure about a 5 volt. 5 volt what I don't know yet. Will take a look at the suggestions. I'm just tired of being tethered to my passthrough.

I'll be posting back -

Again, thanks for your replies and recommendations!!

:)Ok, been looking at the recommendations given.

Cliff- No modding for me. Not good with electrical stuff. I'd wind up either electrocuting myself or blowing flames out the batt end. Not a pretty sight - lol!

Keyzygirl, Katmar and Papa - took a look at the Tornado/Ego. Seems there is a problem with the switch sticking and issues with batt life. I'm going to pass on this until the bugs are worked out. But thanks for pointing me to it!!

doots - as with Keyzygirl, watched a review where TW Tornado is paired with Nhaler LR atty's. Seems like a good idea, but again, people seem to having issues with sticking switches and batt DOA.

Did look into the GLV - atty attached to the side is not for me. I would rip it off in a heart beat.

Xhaler has a bottom button. Not coordinated enough for a bottom button. Hell, I'm not coordinated enough to chew gum and walk at the same time.:pBesides, this is just the basic unit. Batts, chargers, atty's all sold separately driving the cost up.

Prodigy V2 - I understand the V2 is supposed to be an upgrade from the V1 that had alot of issues with the button sticking. It's not supposed to be an issue with the V2. Haven't read enough reviews on this but it might be doable.

Sabertouch looks good. Would like to hear if anyone has used one of these.

SB - after reading reviews and watching reviews, seems like an outstanding piece. Batts last forever, made for a heavy chain vaper like me. However, it's size is a drawback. Showed my DH this. His reaction:

"My God woman!!!! Why would you need something that big? (I won't answer that) 8-o Everytime you vaped on that the fire department would be down here trying to put you out!"8-o8-o8-o8-o8-o8-o8-o8-o
Images of Cheech & Chong's movie "Up in Smoke" replayed in my mind:D

Indulgence -not a 5volt and reviews said it was not as durable as a screwdriver.

Volcano is more of a beginner e cig. Not for me.

Chuck - read good reviews on it. Not sure about the button.

Storm - haven't read any reviews. Anyone own one of these and what do you think?

So after researching, I've refined my "wants" or "un-wants".

Need an e cig that has a long battery life. I'm a heavy vaper and chain vape mostly. My generic Janty stick is supposed to provide 8 hours on a fully charged batt. I'm managing 3.5 to 4 hours before having to switch out. I want to be able to vape at least 8 hours if not more.

Need the flavor.

Need the vapor - but not enough to call the fire department.

Attys - seems like everyone is using a 510 atty. So, since there are adapters, seems like a non-issue now.

Carts - non issue. After seeing everyone direct drip, decided to drip on my 901. OMG!!!! WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS SOONER? :hubba::hubba::hubba::hubba: Oh, I know why. 'Cause I'd NEVER LEAVE THE FLIPPIN HOUSE!! My 901 PT with the 5volt plug adapter would have morphed into my face and I would start looking like some monster in a SCYFY movie. That's why.

So far, the SB (despite DH and the fire department), the BB, the Sabertouch and the Storm look good.

Open for more suggestions!! Thanks!!:D

If you now like to direct drip, you might want to consider the BE112 atty which is an 801 type BUT only on a HV device.

The Prodigy V2 is really nice at 5 volts. However, you have to clean the contacts at least once a weak. I personally like the V1 better with the electronic switch. I never have a problem with it.

I have not tried this supplier yet, but did read one positive review, so you may want to check it out as he also supplies a 5 volt device: eCigMods - Marietta Georgia - e-Cigarette Modding Shop - Landing Page

After trying several mods I would sugget the Super 6. It is one of the lighest ecigs on the market. It is slim and is of excellent appearance. There is nothing on this unit that can break. It has a 3 year warranty (other mods have anywhere from l month to 1 year). You can use either 3.7 and 6.0 by just chaning the batteries. I am a woman and it fits in my hand perfectly. The only drawback is that you don't like a end button but like I said it is very easy to use. A lot of the mods have switchs that can break but the Super 6 has a solid metall switch that has no parts that could break.

IMO this is one of the best mods on the market. Another one might be the GG but the cost is a little too high. There are several attachment that go with the GG but altogether it would cost over 350.00 with the base unit being $199.

Good luck in your decision. Don't let the button location stop you from making a purchase. Also looking at a picture does not always show you how big some of these mods are. I have looked at them in picture and once I received them they were very big.

I would check out the provape pv1, only cause me and my gf got them and they have been solid. I love the feel of the button, it is a 3.7 device, I am using the LR attys with it and find that it makes my 801/302 attys produce awesome vapor.

There are about 4 reviews including my own in the video reviews section. If you are looking for light weight, get the aluminum one.

Thanks everyone!! I've decided that I will go with a 5volt design. I did review all the suggestions BTW - took a while LOL! Anywho, I decided upon the GLV 5 volt, but noticed it was out of stock on Jay's website. I posted a tread as to how to order and am hoping that I will be able to order one.

Again, thanks!!!!!!

The Tornado with LR atty's gives a close to 5v experience. The batt last 6-8 hrs. for me with heavy vaping and only 90 min. to recharge. The cone helps produce a nice, warm vape and I've personally not had any probs with the button at all. Dripping or 510 cartos or regular 510 carts all give seem to bring out the juice flavors better than my KR808 and vapor production is pretty huge!

Based on my experience the Prodigy V2 is a piece of junk. I ordered it and it came with dethreaded threads and only fired 1 out of 4 times. Than I sent it back and it came back same problem.
In my opinion a company has serious quality problems when they can't replace defective units with working units.

So far though there 5V USB passthrough has been working great.

Thanks for the info. I did look at the Tornado, but am waiting to see how it works out. Some people are experiencing problems with the button.

I heard the LR attys only last a week. Is this true?
God I hope not!!! Planning on ordering LR's from Eastmall at $3.00 a pop. That would get way to expensive for me.

Heard there were problems with the Prodigy. There's no reason for shoddy workmanship - especially when you pay big bucks for it. I don't want the hassles of sending something back, not have it work, send it back etc. Don't need the headache.

My 901 on the passthrough works great. Problem is, it's not portable. Hence, the "need" for a 5v that's portable and a long battery life. I've been holed up in the computer room all winter vaping into oblivion :D Now I need to get a life:p
