Red & Black
Red & Black, from the well-known brand Just juice, promises to remind us of moments from our childhood, trying to recreate the classic raspberry and blackcurrant gummy candies. Let's see how well they've done. Thanks to Vapeo24 for making this review possible.
According to the manufacturer: From the first inhale, the ripe red raspberry unfolds its vibrant sweetness, enveloping the palate with a juicy and delicious touch. Shortly after, the deep and slightly tart blackcurrant balances the mix, providing a perfect contrast that enhances its intensity.
Remember that this is a liquid sold in a 12 and 24mL aroma format. It must be mixed with a base according to the manufacturer's instructions and allowed to steep. Nicotine can be added to the consumer's taste.
Let's go with the olfactory test. I get a very clear gummy candy aroma, specifically raspberry. You can tell from the scent alone that this liquid won't be very friendly to the cotton in our coils. I can't find the blackcurrant, but I believe it's what will provide the main acidic flavor when vaping. The base of the liquid reminds me of soft jelly fruit gummies, which are honestly my favorite.
Now for the vaping part. With the first puff, we know very clearly that we're going to get cloyed; it's a liquid for those with a sweet tooth. I can perfectly taste the gummy base, just as it was described in the olfactory test; it's the typical jelly-textured gummy candy that almost everyone loves. I can perfectly taste the raspberry flavor, and on the exhale, it leaves a very pleasant acidity for a long period of time. I think that acidity is provided by the blackcurrant as such, because I don't really perceive its flavor—the raspberry remains on top of it.
I can't say bad things about this liquid. Is it good? Yes, obviously it is, but you have to like very sweet liquids and not mind changing your cotton frequently until you finish the bottle. It's not the best thing I've tried in the gummy category, but I have no complaints whatsoever.
P.S. I love the completely red bottle that matches the lid.
