I'm not sold on the idea of better flavor coming from a reduced air chamber in an atty. I have used both types and really don't taste the difference. Is there truth in this idea or is it a matter of opinion?
It's a mixture of both. The size and the shape of the chamber plus the subjective nature aka opinion. If we focus on these two aspects and assume a proper build and wick here is my view on the issue. I chase flavor with single coil builds and have quite a few drippers.
1. The REO
mod is a bottom feed squonker and uses what they call an RM2. A very small air chamber. Rob modifies the following dripper for bottom feeding:
Triangle Stainless Steel Rebuildable Atomizer
Once an O ring is installed so the air hole sits directly in front of the coil it's a great flavor centric
vape. Don't let the price fool you.
2. I also use a Magma (Authentic) and a clone of same by Infinite. Bigger air chamber but shaped differently. Holds about 2 ML of
juice and produces great flavor.
Numbers 1 and 2 for me is a tie with respect to flavor. BTW, an often overlooked tip for flavor chasers is to use a
narrow bore drip tip. For me, this enhances the flavor. I use the KayFun 510 drip tips on both of the above devices.
