Short facts: Mom has been sick, safety is a big issue. She's had surgery in her mouth.

Her equipment: Vamo v2 and kanger protank II. She vapes at NO2 at 4.0w

She says store bought juice is OK (tried flavourart ry4).

Now for the question:

I've purchased nicotene, PG and VG. I've mixed it 50/50 and even with no flavour, she complains about throat hit. I've tried with nicotene levels below the store bought too, and she still says it's too much throat hit.

What can I do to reduce throat hit?

Sounds like you're doing everything right. Which nic level? It may be best to lay off vaping for a while since she just had oral surgery. Has she tried nic losanges?

It's about half a year since the surgery, so no issues there. It's just the throat hit is too hard on my homemade juice. Id rather have her vape the homemade stuff, so I know the quality is good.

Lol. Then why on earth did you mention it?

As has been said, you can try going to an even lower PG ratio, as it does add a bit of throat hit. Straight VG liquid has very little TH.

Also dropping to around 6mg should help muches

Nicotine concentration is the biggest determining factor for "throat hit". To a lessor degree so is the Pg ratio.

She may prefer a cooler vape. Go with higher resistance coils with lower voltages.

Get her a longer drip tip to cool the vapor like these:

As everyone is saying on here, the contributing factors to throat hit are:

  • Higher Nicotine
  • Higher PG
  • Higher Voltage
  • Hotter Air

You want to try to AVOID all of the above, or at least reduce it as much as possible. Naturally, you probably won't get as much vapor because of the lower voltage - but the higher VG should help some. Also as mentioned, a longer drip tip would help. Personally, I would recommend getting a tank (if you use them) with an air-flow controller such as the Aero or Nautilus. Open up the air flow as much as it will go so that it cools off the vapor before it hits the throat.

I get good vapor at 6-7 watts with 80% VG and 12mg nic
