Just curious, at what point do you refill carto tank? Do you refill it when the juice decreases past the punched holes on the carto ? How much longer will I be able to vape without damaging the carto if the juice goes past the punched holes ?

Also the juice level in my tank is getting close to the punched holes. When I vape ( I am tilting my MOD to vape ) one side of punched carto is getting no juice at all, the other side is getting juice. Any bad effects to the carto from vaping at low levels ?

If using the same cartomizer, must you prime it again? Or since it's primed already do you just fill the tank and you done?

Thanks

I try to refill my tank before the juice level reaches the wick holes. I'm don't know what the result would be if you continued to vape past the holes and possibly allow some air to get into the carto; it would probabaly affect the remaining juice not getting wicked as well into the cartomizer as air would have less resistance than the e-liquid.

When refilling the tank, sometimes I top off the carto, too; sometimes not. And for no particular reason. Either I'm just lazy and just refill the tank, or I might be in a rush and not have time to drip into the carto. I think it makes sense to top it off along with the tank, but it's not necessary from what I can tell.

Thanks everyone. This was my first carto tank that I purchased. It is a learning curve by all means. Not as simple as my EVOD.

I feel like when the tank is full I have nothing to worry about. When the tank becomes half full or half empty ( depends how you look at it ) then I am in danger. When I vape I tilt my mod to the right or left as most people do and the juice drops to one end. This leaves one end of the carto hole exposed with no liquid. At this point I begin to question the TRUE capacity of my tank.

If I have to fill the tank every time it gets half empty then this may not be the best device to use for me.

True, cartotanks are slightly more complex than a clearotank, like an Evod.

You should have no fear of tilting your cartotank, or laying it on it's side. No harm will be done. You do not have to refill the tank when it is half full/half empty (depends how you look at it). :p

As I said before, I typically refill my tanks when the juice level approaches the level of the wick holes in the carto. I sense that you are making a larger deal out of this than you need to. Just chill and enjoy. If you make a mistake, it's ok, we've all made them. It's all part of the learning curve.

It won't be long before it all comes together for you, and you will realize why cartotank users prefer them over clearotanks.

You are probably right. I guess I am driving my self crazy being a noob. Keep trying different things all at once. I should just take a step back and enjoy what I have.

Thanks

I've had the same thought on topping off tank carto's. Mine seem to start to run dry after a day or so. Could it be I'm just not priming correctly or does the top always start to look dry after some decent use?
Cartomizer Anatomy.jpg
The above diagram may assist my explanation (click to enlarge). It is a cutaway of a tank cartomizer. Even if you totally saturate the carto when priming, once you vape it a few times the suction created will pull juice from the top of the cartomizer filler, in addition from the tank as demonstrated by the red arrows.

So it is normal for the top of the carto to appear dry shortly after vaping it. As long as the filler surrounding the heating coil stays moist, there should be no danger of burning it.

If the carto appears to start tasting dry, try doing some primer puffs (pulling without power) off and on while you vape.

Haven't had dry hits, just lack of flavor. That does help though, thanks!
