Hi all,

Haven't had an analoge cigarette for over a week and think I actually prefer the e-cig! I was having a few analogs at the end of a couple of drinks but they tasted like I'd quit (which I suppose I had in effect!), didn't like it anyway so all going very well.

Question I have is - when you put a new cartridge in the e-cig it's better than at the end of it and I don't want to burn the atomizer out so.... never used the e-liquid before and am concerned about over doing it on the nicotine etc, I've looked at the amount of nic in patches and gum and the e-cig compares really well but if I'm topping up I just don't know how much is normal, do I just fill the little cartridge to the top again and base it on another pack of cigarettes. I have the 84mm e-cig which I find great but think a full cart would resemble more like about 7 - 10 cigarettes rather that 20.

Any advise would is welcome, also, I live in the UK, any thoughts on what is the best e-liquid to go for?

Cheers

There are several threads on topping off and a few videos. The process is rellly simple. When vapor production is reduced and you look at the end of the cartridge, it will be drier than when you inserted it fresh. Just add a few drops onto the stuffing until it is saturated but not pooling.

Many folks carry tweezers with them to push the cartridge stuffing down into the cart, drop a half dozen or so drops into the cart and pull the stuffing back up flush with the cartridge opening. The number of drops depends on cartridge size. You can push the material down again and maybe get a few drops more in, pull it back up and use it. This method better saturates the stuffing and is more like refilling. You will get the hang of it.

Lastly, you can squeeze out liquid from used cartridges in a syringe and save it for emergencies, rinse the stuffing and carts in warm water, let dry and reuse. Again, several threads with videos on refilling are somewhere here on this fourm.

Trial and error will tell you if you are taking in too much nicotine. Trust your body. Start with a higher nicotine juice of, say, 24mg/ml. If you find it too strong, you can always cut it with some glycerine and/or distilled water.

I took the somewhat opposite approach. I purchased the 24mg juice and immediately cut it down to 12mg. I figured it may be too easy to get used to the high nic level so I wanted to start lower. Of course I was only a 1.5 pack/day smoker, not like some of the 3-4 pack/day steam engines around here8-o so it may have been easier for me to adjust.....
