I'm wanting to refinish a couple of mods/atties. One SS and one Copper. Just to take the surface-scratching out from every day use.

Both of the mods in question are of a polished finish.

I use Blue Magic on the Copper mod, but I don't think that polish is used for removing scratching is it? Just patina?

I prefer my copper mods with patina, so I don't want to take it off if it isn't going to help any.

I know how to brush-finish, but I've never tried to make a polished finish so any help is appreciated. I also have a dremel, drill, and GP PnB tool for reference

I have a buffing wheel, but no paste. I need a new buffing wheel though, so I'll pick one of those up and see if I can't find some buffing polish for it as well.

I'm more looking for technique. The buffing wheel is small, so I was afraid to use it in fear of the finish becoming uneven. I'd like to use my PnB to do this, but not sure what to use on it. Wet-sand paper comes to mind, but I've limited knowledge of how to do it.

OK, you have your metal surface, nice and smooth, then you scratch it, bummer. You need to make it smooth again. For cars they fill in the scratch and then paint over it. If you do not want to paint it you need to lower the rest of the surface down to the scratch. The way to do it is to start with an aggressive polish or sand paper to put scratches on the rest of the surface as deep as the one you have. Then use finer polish or sand paper to make all the scratches shallower. Repeat until as smooth as you want. Admire it when you are done and cry when you scratch it again.

I prefer to let the metal develop naturally, or fake naturally. I patina my brass/copper and satin or blast my steel.
