I took apart a new joye510 cart and compared it with one of the earlier ones that were made. Reason of checking is I have to top of the cart more compare to the old cart.

What I noticed is the new cart holds less juce compared to the old one. My old cart can hold 12 to 15 drops of juice. The new can only hold 7 drops. It's stated on the website that each cart holds up to .7 ml of juice.

The old carts can hold .7 ml And a bit more as I tried to fill one up using a diabetic syringe. But the newer ones can't hold the juice stated on the website.

Why was there a design change. I was happy on how the older carts held juice. But the newer ones are just like a 401 cart now. They wear out a lot faster and will have to change carts every day due to the amount of wear it goes through a day.

I also noticed that the newer ones are not made as good as before. They have rough corners and the edges are not aligned. They look like they were put together in so much a hurry. The old ones have a smoother and tapered finish on the edges.

Anybody else notice this?

Hi Amy,

They are the flat tip carts. Black in color. Take the filler / wool out and look at the difference. Check the Edge that goes into the mouth. They are a bit sharp. The old ones are a lot better if you ask me.

I'm sure you are not aware of this same goes for most users. Mainly because they look the same. But when you start checking on things and start taking it apart you notice almost everything.

Hi Amy,

Thank you. I doubt that I received a bad batch. A fellow 510 user confirmed this and looks like Joye Redesigned the carts without telling anybody about it.

Are your roundtip carts form the old batch? Maybe carts from January. I don't think Ill be ordering soon since I ordered a lot of items from you last time. If you can please find me some the old carts. If you can I'll try to look for something I might need. If you want I can send these back to you. Then replace it maybe?

So Amy, what happens now?

I get a box of the same problematic carts in my next order?

Just so y'all know, my previous comment (confirmed elsewhere since) that the 901 tips/carts work with 510s was meant to be a possible solution here -- if they hold the 'normal'/desired amount of liquid.

I first read about that interchangeability on a thread where it was mentioned that the vape qualities of the 901 cart/510 atty combo was even preferred by many. Oh and that the fit is tighter, in a good way, too.

We don't see much of a difference between the filler in the 2 carts. The main difference is there is less filler material but are still made of the same material. Since the resevoir is smaller it means you only need less filler.

Problem is i've opened up most of them because they leak liquid at the sides or into my mouth. I found a few that work properly. Out of the 30 I opened only 6 of them fit good enough that they don't leak liquid when you put your device on a tabletop.

The old ones never leaked on me. The new ones are just leaking everywhere. How can this be an improved design when it's too much of a hassle. I have to store my 510 cart down and I have to make sure that Ived vape the cart enough so no juice will leak and end up soiling my pocket.

I ordered these January. I just opened them upon posting this thread. I have stopped using them mainly because of leaks. I'd often have juice stains on my shirt pocket when using the newer carts.

I used at least two from each of the 10 boxes of 5 that I bought and they are all the same. Good thing my friend still had a batch of some carts from November.

So know they are just here sitting in my room. I'm thinking of getting 510 cartomizers and just stop messing with these things. Are your 510 cartomizers made by joye?

If 510 cartridges are going to stay this smaller size, you could switch to a Mega 510. That's what I use and the carts hold more than the old 510 or current 901.

Sorry, doesn't address your current concern but it does offer a possible future course of action.

Yes. i think, mega ones are better small ones. ;)
