Hey everyone, I just purchased my Provari a few weeks ago with some attys and like 8 carts for the attys. I was always vaping regular analog style units that used only cartos, so the whole atty/cartridge thing is kind of new to me. How long do these cartridges usually last, and how do you know when it is time to change them? I started getting some hard particles near the mouth piece on the batting, but I assume thats just burned batting, and I cut it off with a scissor. I have been using the same one for nearly 3 weeks, and am just wondering how I know its time to pop in a new one.

When I was using the atty/cart combo I would change out the filler every couple of weeks. I have found that the blue foam works better than the original filler. Seems to wick better and doesn't burn as easily or get a hard spot near the atty coil as you described.

If you have a Petsmart near, they have the correct blue foam in the form of an aquarium filter replacement. It is called Marineland Rite size "U". Costs about 7 bucks, but you have a life time supply of foam.

Wash it out with some dish soap and hot water and let it dry before you use it. Cut it to the approximate size of the original filler, just a bit below the lip of the cart. The first filling will take a bit of poking the foam to get the juice to absorb, say with a bent paper clip, but after that, it takes the juice easily.

Hope that helps you.

Cartridges suck. But if you use them try Blue foam. If they are 510 carts see strictlyejuice.com for cheap precut blue foam. And do not use random foam - you can poison yourself.

You can use cartomizers on Provari. Get standard resistance cartos like Boge. And some people put a 510 to 808 adapter on Provari and use Vapor4Life cartos

Thanks for the tips guys. I was mainly a carto guy as I had analog, 2 piece style e cigs for a while. But after getting the provari and trying the two piece atty/carts (mainly my SLB 510 atty) the taste is just so much more intense and smooth. Cartos are so weak in taste compared to these things. What are your guys thoughts on this? Am I maybe not ordering the best cartos? I got them from provape. All black 510 cartos. Is there a type of carto that will give me a replicable comparison to the SLB 510 atty/cart combo?

Nope. I have never used a VV nor do I use cart+atty since the first 3 weeks of vaping. The most popular cartomizers are Boge. You would use the standard resistance ones or the HV ones on Provari. I find that they work best the longest with thin clear juices - juices with no more than 20% VG that are see-through no-sediment juices.

The SLB cartos, IMO, suck. You can try those too but to me they were more the kind of carto for filling once then throwing away, I got very poor performance with those after the first fill.

I fill my Boges well (18+ drops), clean up, let them settle on different sides to make sure all stuffing is damp. Then I keep it damp. if the vaping gets a bit light, a bit dry, or the carto is getting abnormally warm, I add liquid.

I also heard the Vapor4Life cartos work very well on Provari (with an 808 adapter) and that they handle cranking up the voltage well. I only use them at 3.7 so I would not know.
