I hear about them everywhere.
From here to stores that include them.
How exactly do they work?
Is it just a mouth piece that replaces the cartridge and you drop the juice directly on the atty?

pretty much, it removes the hassle of having to pull the cart off every time you wanna drip

That is exactly what it is. So you don't have to keep taking it apart, just drip a few drops onto the atty and puff away, when it tastes funny, add more drops. Simple! I just fill a 3 ml bottle up in the morning of what I want to vape and I am good for the day.

That's what I do. I've been too lazy to order a drip tip. Next order, though.

I just pulled the stuffing out of an old cart and use it as a mouthpiece. Works well enough for now.

Oh, cool.
I'm gonna order my first PV semi-soon, and nhaler has a nice eGo kit that comes with a driptip ;)

Let me make this easy - GET ONE! I just received my first two drip tips from MadVapes, and I refuse to ever go back to carts, period. They're that good.

Basically, it lets you inhale the vapor straight from the atomizer, and still allows for the juice to be put in the atomizer without removing the tip, hence "drip" tip - you drip the juice right in, and you're good to go. I found that since I was already carrying a few carts and a bottle of juice since the carts were running dry, the drip tip actually made my life easier. In addition, the flavor is much more intense and less "plastic-y". Cheers, and enjoy the drip tip when you do (because you will buy one!)

So do you drip the juice directly on the atomizer, or around the atomizer?
I don't even have anything yet, but I wanna be well prepared when I do get one! :D

Yes, drip tips are the way to go. I'm vaping almost a year now. Started with regular 510's and then some cartomizer brands. Last 4/5 months I've been only using a TW tornado (just like the ego). First thing I got hooked on and would never go without was low resistance atomizers. One I had a mod with the bigger battery I tried the LR and man what a difference. they really bring out the flavor in the juice and now I use all proplylene glycol and no vegetable glycerin. With the lr atty the pg makes plenty of vapor and pg just tastes way better, in my opinion, than vg. So, after a while with the lr atty I finally spent a couple bucks for a nylon drip tip. Now that is all I use. Again, it's all about quality...the flavor is much more 'pure' when dripping directly on the atty as opposed to wicking from a cartridge. It's cool the way the drip tips work. they are counter sunk a bit so the all the ejuice always (almost always:)) goes right down the hole onto the atty without any staying on the tip to get in your mouth - byuuck! try one and I'm pretty sure you'll like it.

I've got the anodized drip tips from Madvapes as well. It's worth it to spend a couple more dollars to get a metal one Vs. plastic or Delrin. These tips have really held up well under the stress. But if you think about it, there's nothing on them that would break or melt. The whole thing is metal, so... Or if you really wanna go all out you could get a reaaaally nice drip tip from Super-T. Those are made very very nicely.

I have a brass, a stainless steel and 4 delirin drip tips. They work good but I have difficulty getting them to fit on the atomizer and when I do they are almost impossible to remove especially the metal ones. The metal ones are also quite heavy. I usually just remove the two inside plastic covers in the regular tip and drip through this, It works pretty good.

Also don't get sucked into paying $8 for one of these. Some sites have them as low as $2.
