They say you can't reinvent the wheel. I'm sure others tried without success. Can we reinvent the e-cig? It will be impossible to go on and try to change the general thinking that a e-cig is not an electronic cigarette.

We call cigarettes here analogs, but who goes into a gas station and ask for a pack of Marlboro analogs? We need to stop giving the opposition ammunition by saying electronic cigarette. Just the word cigarette makes non smokers and smokers think of cancer, second hand smoke, sickening odor. We quit smoking cigarettes not analogs.

We need to change our thinking or city after city and state after state will ban e-cigs.

I have ideas and I don't wish to be sanctioned or ridiculed for being frank. However when "
hey will always be ecigs as they are electronic and are used to replace cigarettes. This is The eCig forum.
is perfect for big tobacco. They love hearing the words electronic cigarette. All I can say is with the words electronic cigarette we are at the mercy of big tobacco.

How has the fight been going using e-cig? Not well here in the USA as they are being banned. It's time to build a better mouse trap and e-cig is not working. If there is a thread like this every week it's time to change some thinking.

How are they being banned? You mean no vaping in public places? By kids under the age of 18?

People have the right to be free of vapor as much as we have the right to vape.

I don't see any outright banning of ecigs. Something similar was tried in 2009 and failed.

90% of us would have never used one if they weren't called an e-cig.

Interesting article from Forbes. Like everything follow the money.

Who Got Rich This Week: Founders of Zulily and an E-Cigarette Company - Forbes

Personally I like to call mine a pipe as do my kids as it looks nothing like a cig.

1965 Patent by Gilbert, Patent US3200819 - Smokeless non-tobacco cigarette - Google Patents

Using "personal vaporize" would invoke other uses which are currently against the law and may make the banning easier.

Just my thoughts as I am enjoying my ecig or pipe on my day off.

I just spent a grand on 2 sets of tires for wifey's Honda and my Suburban. Let's don't re-invent the wheel just yet. My tread warrany has 60,000mi. :D

With that said, I call it a nicotine vaporizer when asked. One person can make a change. Do your part. I'll do mine. We can hold hands if you like.

My tires would never go 60,000 miles but they did last 25 laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the mile and a half oval.

Nicotine vaporizer is a great name for it as that is exactly what it is, as is the nicotine patch and nicotine gum. Lets keep it simple and non smokers will see it's only a device to allow us to quit smoking. Now if our nicotine vaporizer was vapor free who would it bother?

I agree if I didn't hear about e-cigs I would still be smoking. Follow the money is the route of capitalism and I know if you read that article on Forbes you also clicked the link about Phillip Morris. I truly believe they has the resources to crush the e-cig industry or take advantage of it. Look at what Walmart did to the mom and pop stores.
