Am I the only one who hates the term "Analog" ???

So everything that is not digital is analog?????????

Simply put, analog is continuous over time, while digital is discontinuous with discrete values at specific intervals determined by the sampling frequency.

Parts of some ecigs are digital, such as the regulation circuits in regulated mods, while other parts could be considered analog, such as the coil (if we don't bring PWM into it). However, I wouldn't considered any part of a cigarette digital, but it does fit the analog mold pretty closely in a sense. It works if you don't over think it, but could be argued either way i guess. Didn't want to get into the jargony stuff.

EDIT: To answer your actual question????, I could argue that, yes. Either something is continuous or it is not. It all depends how you divide things and in what range/perspective we're looking at it.

Like my first week I made the same complaint. It didn't make sense, and sounded "stupid".

From this point forward please interchange " stupid " with the word that makes the most sense.

Vape, vaper, vaping.

All sound very hipster bent wrist "stupid" too. Can't stand any of this garbage lingo. I am unable to express the true level of my disdain for how "stupid" it all sounds here without catching a foot, so I'll refrain.

I also understand the need for separation. (Between cigarettes, and vaping). But, it would be nice to have it be called something way less "stupid".


That was the best I can manage. I frequent forums with full flagrancy. This sucks.

It just doesn't bother me that some refer to cigarettes as Analogs. It's certainly easier to type Analog vs Cigarette!

And you already alluded to why in your post. If we call Vaping electronic, cigarettes are most definitely not electronic so the reverse of electronic is analog.

Seems ok to me as it's easily understood as a reference.

That's what I was thinking when I first joined ECF after being confused at first. I don't think it's a big deal if people from the forums call it analogs or something else, most important thing is you're not smoking it or at least cut down and on your way to quitting analogs.
