Hey all, been vaping for about 8 months, 6 on the forums (mostly just reading) but I'm really looking for help with my tank.

A friend helped me buy an Aspire Cleito for my third tank, and with the two coils in the box, I LOVED it. PHENOMENAL flavor, clouds and overall feel. I run it with a Wismec Presa 75TC, and *sigh* I fell in love with both.

However, I went through both coils in a little under 3 weeks, and so I bought a new pack. The first new coil tasted wrong, and I chalked it up to user error, even though I saturated it thoroughly, dripped in, swirled, then filled the tank and let it sit overnight. I figured I'd switch to another coil to see if it was better.

Nope. it actually tasted worse, like I was huffing burnt plastic. Still using it, as I'm on a seriously tight budget (can't afford coils for my other tanks) and the clouds are still good.

Any and all advice greatly appreciated!!!

i have a cleito and i love it..is the pack of coils you bought the .2 or .4?..what wattage are you running them at?
i'm using the .4 coils right now and i've got more than 3 weeks of use from just one coil but i also rotate between a few other tanks so it's probably had about 30mls of juice through that same coil..you should've been able to get way over three weeks from both those coils..the .4 coils are rated from 40-60w and i have mine at 52w and it's awesome..nice thick dense vape with great flavor..the .2 coils are rated from 55-70w.
which ever coil your using make sure you stay within it's range and remember the cleito coils will dry hit if you have the airflow closed too much..it's the nature of that style of coil..those huge juice holes sit just a little lower than the actual coil, so gravity hinders the wicking slightly..ease into it slowly and get the coil warmed up so the juice can flow up the cotton easier..basically, break those coils in slowly by starting off in the lower end of the wattage range and then slowly bring the power up until you find the sweet spot..if you run the .4 coils at 75w it's going to burn.

@menelae, I got the .2s and running 'em at 40-50 seems the best balance, above that the coil doesn't wick fast enough it seems....

@LouisLeBeau, I've got the Aspire Cleito, Kangertech AeroTank 2 and a teeny little ProTank 2, but I don't switch much, the Kangertechs feel like too hard to draw to me now, very slow pulls and minimal air flow. I'm hoping to get a new coil for it as my bf and I are currently sick and need a menthol vape, but I am NOT tainting my Cleito with that! Not really a fan of menthols or mint in general... With the Kangers I use a Tesla Spider, using them on my Presa I mayyy have forgotten a time or two to turn it down.....

Hmm... If the kanger Subtank heads will fit in the AeroTank2 or ProTank, I have some spares I'd be happy to send you. I also have a spare RBA head for the Subtank if you can use that. If it will work, and you think you might like building your own coils (SUPER cheap, just takes a lil practice) I'm sure I have spare wire and I KNOW I have enough cotton and rayon to last BOTH of us a lifetime. :) Just let me know if you can use any of it, and it's yours.

@LouisLeBeau Sadly the subtank is a different set than the Protank 3 and AeroTank 2, and none of my tanks has an RBA deck :( I greatly appreciate the offer though!!

Aww.. sorry Davinia3. I wish I could help you too. But I AM seeing rumors that Aspire may be offering an RBA for it. That would be a good plan. Not sure I'm crazy about the design of the prebuilt coils. It is, as the posters in this thread suggest, basically a cartomizer. While we got by on them, the difficulties you are describing sound VERY much like those of cartomizers. Keep your eyes peeled at www.vapingcheap.com for an RBA though!

Hi Davinia3.
I have a Cleito and have had no problems at all. Have you double checked to see that you're in Power Mode and not TC or something like that, that might've ruined the coil?

Nah, I've got a bit of experience with the Presa, it's always on power mode. What I've been seeing around the forum a bit is that some of the coil packs just have a few nasty coils, seems like it can be a crapshoot. 2/5 of the coils I've tried from the pack so far have been crap, I can't handle the nasty burnt plastic taste from 'em, I've had to keep a bucket on standby for when I start up a new coil! Eh I'll have to budget out extra for the coils I guess, I _love_ the Cleito a LOT, it'll take me a while to move on from it, even with the random coil being unusable.
