Hello all,

Well, I finally got my first E-cig yesterday,(DSE901) and the generic M401 (which is already broke, from CHINAVASION!) I must admit, this is definitely an extreme experience that needs serious adjustments by me. I absolutely do not know when to stop, even when I know I'm feeling jittery. It's like instant addiction.

I enjoy the product, alot. Did the experience meet my expectations? Not really. I suppose I misinterpreted what throat hit means and thought this implied the heat hitting the back of the throat much like the way analogs do.

This kind of reminds me of being shotgunned....um, oregano from my early years. All the smoke and no heat.

I've grown accustomed to many things of the analog, which I hope will soon be forgotten. I haven't craved analogs in a 28hrs, but I do miss much of the things I did with them, that shouldn't be relevant.

Such as packing, letting the cig hang from my lips, after the initial lighting the freshness of the menthol taste, the aroma of fresh tabacco cigs and even flicking ashes, not to mention daily rituals that revolved around analogs.

I probably sound like a potential E-cig failure or just too new to have given it a proper chance. But, I suppose as long as I don't crave cigarettes and still get my nicotine fix, I'm sure I'll be fine. Also, with having accumulated over $400 dollars in orders for various E-cigs and liquids, bottles...I have to make it work.

Seriously though, for anyone as new or so new that they are still debating. Don't watch too many videos of people demonstrating the vape and drawing in massive amounts. For me, it mentally prepared me to mimic these actions...making it not so fun having to remember not to do these things everytime I take a drag, as these devices distributes far more nicotine than cigs...and alot of it is not by vapor.

There really should be a beginner E-cig that has incorporated programming that shut's off or indicates the burnout of an analog cigarette to form the timing of a new habit.

I agree with everything you've said...it's a matter of unlearning old habits and learning new ones.

There might be some comfort in knowing that you'll eventually get used to your new way of doing things. After little over a month, I don't miss my old smoking habits at all, except...

...there's no way to casually dangle a pen from your lips.

I've yet to find a cool way to vape a pen-style e-cig.

Guess you can't have it all...!

I'll second this!! I so wish I could find a good way to hold my 901 and be hands-free..

I attempted holding it in my teeth, but after a few days my teeth hurt due to the weight and the force I needed to bite down on it.. I still try this occasionally, it never ends up well and I feel like a ..... with a foreign object stuck in my face.

Usually I hold it like an analog, only 'choked up' to about the middle for the proper balance.

I don't miss smoking analogs, but I too miss the old routines sometimes. Even after a full month I sometimes feel for my pack of smokes or lighter - it's almost akin to what I've heard amputees go through, though not nearly as extreme.

Just when I start mourning the loss of my Camels, I catch a whiff of a smoker walk past me and it all goes away.. It's hard to believe I used to just 'deal with' reeking like an ashtray all the time.

I don't know if I'll ever 'not miss' certain aspects of smoking - my grandfather quit over 30 years ago and admitted this weekend that he still craves them. That was a bit disappointing to hear, but I think of the cancer I'm missing and it puts it into perspective. :thumb:
