wrap it in rubber band or a plastic bag make it thick take some pliers or channels wiggle wiggle and off it comes uber easy no damage will be done to the ego threads if you wrap it and squeeze appropriately.

No do nothing method is to put it in your pocket with a 510-t on it go thru your normal routines by the end of the day it will be in two pieces..

btw you do not hold the pliers or channels sideways/horizontal you hold them vertical so they lever it. its uber easy goings

it may seem like its in there but it will wiggle out..after it wiggles it goes easy..

What are you dealing with that you are trying to remove a top cap from? It might be press fit, it might be press fit and epoxied as well. Different PV's may require different a different approach. Look at an eGo knockoff battery cross eyed and it will fall apart. Getting the top cap off the likes of a VAMO is something else, a Tesla APV something else again.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
I would recommend leaving the pliers in the toolbox as they are steel and the connector is softer material, chromed brass. If you use tape or plastic the grip is less between the tool and the part.

If you want more leverage on the press fit something longer attached to the 510 is a nice way to go. I used am old atty with the guts pulled out and something like a dowel stick in the end of it. In my case I used the handle from a wooden spoon from the kitchen that fit the atty tube nicely. This makes the wiggle process real easy.
